On March 23, 2026, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 468 approving the "Program for Protecting and Supporting Children's Development in the Online Environment for the period 2026-2030". The program aims to achieve a "dual objective": strengthening child protection and supporting and promoting healthy, positive child development, enhancing digital literacy in the context of national digital transformation. It fundamentally shifts child protection activities in the online environment towards a model of proactive prevention and mitigation of dangers to children in the online environment. It aims to form a comprehensive architecture for child protection and promoting healthy, positive child development in the online environment through the construction and strengthening of key pillars. The program sets a target for 100% of provinces and centrally-governed cities to implement technological solutions to support digital skills education , counseling, and smart support for children. It also ensures that 100% of children who are victims of online abuse are protected. The network provides support and intervention upon request from the children themselves, their relatives, or the wider community.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thi Thanh Tra emphasized: The program is a practical and meaningful action aimed at protecting, supporting, and promoting children's development. In the coming time, ministries, sectors, and localities need to focus on thoroughly understanding the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws; improving the capacity of officials in applying information technology to warn, prevent, and strictly handle violations. In particular, each family and school needs to pay attention to providing children with a safe and loving support system; social media platforms should strongly promote applications to build a more civilized, cultured, and friendly digital environment. Press agencies, organizations, and online influencers need to spread positive values of caring for the future generation of children.

In our province, the care and protection of children is given priority. The entire province actively participates in practical activities for children. In 2025, 1,563 recreational activities were organized, attracting over 100,000 children. 100% of children under 6 years old receive free medical examinations and treatment at public health facilities. From budget and social contributions, gifts were given to more than 2,500 disadvantaged children, totaling over 1.3 billion VND. 24 children received examinations and surgeries for congenital heart defects and motor disabilities…
Speaking at the launching ceremony, Comrade Nguyen Thanh Cong requested that departments, agencies, and localities coordinate to promote the dissemination and education of online safety skills; and pay attention to organizing sports and cultural activities. He emphasized that well-behaved and academically successful children should possess safe online skills to become confident and capable digital citizens.
On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial Police Department, the Ho Chi Minh City Development Commercial Bank - Son La Branch, and the Bac A Commercial Bank - Son La Branch presented bicycles to six students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
