A bowl of ramen costs 190,000 VND, including noodles, broth, clams and a skinless frog on top, and is causing a stir in Taiwan.

A ramen shop in Yulin, Taiwan, has added a new item to its menu: frog noodles. The bowl consists of noodles, a broth made from fish and clams, and a half-ounce frog, still with its skin, topped with green onions.

The dish is served every Tuesday and Wednesday evening, and the quantity is limited. Each bowl costs NT$250 (VND190,000). If you don't want to eat it but just want to take a photo of the bowl of noodles, you only need to pay NT$100 (more than VND70,000).

The dish quickly attracted the attention of diners. People flocked to the restaurant to order, take pictures of the frog noodles and post them online. The owner said the new dish was inspired by the famous sea worm ramen that Ramen Boy (also in Taiwan) serves. On May 22, Ramen Boy launched a limited edition bowl of noodles by steaming sea worm the size of a hand, serving diners with ramen noodles. The new dish aroused curiosity, attracting more than 100 people to register to come and enjoy it.

Hu, the restaurant owner, said the sea urchin looked appealing because of its “cute appearance.” The restaurant uses a simple method of steaming, so it is not difficult to prepare. A bowl of noodles costs more than NT$1,400 (over VND1.1 million).
