On the homepage, Okayama Seagulls said: "We would like to announce that Tran Thi Bich Thuy has decided to join the club. She wears shirt number 27, plays as a middle blocker, is 184cm tall and is from Vietnam."

This news surprised many people but in a very different way because in fact, Bich Thuy had been in Japan for many weeks. She even appeared in the Okayama Seagulls cheering team in recent matches in the Japanese Championship (SV-League).

However, it was not until today that the club officially recognized her as a member of the team. In the comment section, a user expressed surprise: "I thought Bich Thuy had joined Okayama Seagulls a long time ago. Why is this information only appearing today?".

Many others also had similar questions. In addition, some fans sent their best wishes to Bich Thuy, and hoped that she would achieve high performance and play well in her new jersey.

Tran Thi Bich Thuy was born in 2000, is an athlete of Duc Giang Lao Cai Chemical Club. There was a time when she was eliminated from the Vietnamese women's volleyball team due to not meeting professional requirements.

However, since the beginning of 2025, Bich Thuy has suddenly revived when playing for GS Caltex Club (Korea). She has achieved surprisingly high performance, performing well in both blocking and attacking at position number 3. Thanks to that, Bich Thuy was called back to the national team by coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet to compete in major tournaments such as AVC Nations Cup, SEA V.League, Women's Volleyball World Championship,...

After returning to serve her home team Hoa Chat Duc Giang Lao Cai in the 2025 National Championship, Bich Thuy continued her journey to Japan to join Okayama Seagulls. She is also the second Vietnamese athlete to compete in the SV-League this year, alongside striker Tran Thi Thanh Thuy of the Gunma Green Wings Club.

Due to their competition schedule in Japan, the duo has not been able to join the domestic training trip of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team to prepare for the SEA Games. It is expected that they will be able to join the team on December 2 at the earliest.
