In a charity program, Lam Vy Da - Hua Minh Dat and their two sons devoted themselves to overcoming challenges, bringing valuable rewards to orphaned children.
In episode 131 of the program Vietnamese Family Warmth hosted by MC Thanh Thao, the couple Lam Vy Da - Hua Minh Dat and their two sons contributed to bringing home 96 million VND and many meaningful gifts for orphans. In particular, the image of the actress's two children giving their all, working with their parents to complete challenges to share with those in difficult circumstances made many people excited.
Specifically, when performing the sub-competition, the couple Lam Vy Da and Hua Minh Dat will be tasked with throwing ping pong balls into the basket. Banh My and Xa Xi will stand opposite their parents to catch the ball. MC Thanh Thao suggested that Lam Vy Da's children can change any position to be able to catch the ball. She especially emphasized that as long as the children's feet do not exceed the specified line, they can sit or lie down. Lam Vy Da shouted: "Oh my god, my child is so naughty, he does whatever he is told."
Immediately, Banh My squatted very low, not even daring to move so that Dat could throw the ball more easily. Meanwhile, Xa Xi knelt down to put the basket in a lower position. Sometimes, she even lay down on the ground to bring the basket closer to her mother. However, because of the lack of coordination, the ball kept going out, and it took a while for the challenge to be completed.
In another challenge, Xa Xi even took off his shoes to run really fast in the challenge. After completing the task, everyone discovered that Xa Xi's knees were a bit bruised but he was still very energetic. After winning priority for the families, Lam Vy Da immediately "lovingly blamed" her son even though he had given his all. The actress thought that Xa Xi did not understand what his mother meant, she wanted her son to hold the basket upright so that it would be easier to catch the ball but he did not understand. Lam Vy Da's act of "blaming" her son for "disagreeing opinions" when doing the challenge made many viewers laugh with delight.
After the competition, Lam Thi Cam Nhung's family came in third place, receiving 17 million VND. MC Thanh Thao gave Cam Nhung a logo board worth 9 million VND. Lam Thi Hong Chau's family came in second place, receiving 24 million VND. Huynh Ngoc Trang's family came in first place, completing the special challenge and receiving 55 million VND from Hoa Sen Group .
In addition, out of sympathy for Ngoc Trang's situation, Mr. Tran Dinh Phuong, Deputy General Director of BEE Media Company, decided to support Trang with 1 million VND/month until she finishes grade 12. In particular, Mr. Thanh - a familiar MTQ of the program offered to buy an additional logo board of the program worth 15 million VND to give to Ngoc Trang. Mr. Thanh also gave the remaining two families an additional 5 million VND in cash each. In addition, benefactors and local people who came to support the program contributed and directly gave nearly 180 million VND to the three situations.
Participating in the program, Lam Vy Da - Hua Minh Dat's family not only contributed to completing the challenges but also gave many meaningful gifts to the families. Among them, Banh My and Xa Xi brought along their piggy banks that they had saved to give to orphans. In addition to the cost of building a kitchen and toilet for Hong Chau's family, the guest family also supported the insurance cost for Cam Nhung's mother because they sympathized with the lonely situation of the mother and daughter.
Father hid his illness and passed away, mother worked hard day and night to raise her orphaned daughter
Lam Thi Cam Nhung (2010), is studying in grade 9 at Nhon Ai Secondary School, Phong Dien District, Can Tho City. She originally had a happy family, with love and care from both her father and mother.
Ironically, because of his love for his wife and children, his father was sick for many years but did not dare to go to the doctor. In 2023, he suddenly passed away. Cam Nhung's father suffered from many illnesses such as heart disease, liver cancer, pulmonary edema, and the illness became more and more serious, but no one knew. She still remembers that before his last visit, his father told her to take good care of her mother and study hard. That advice became his last wish, and every time Nhung mentioned it, she burst into tears.
Now, Cam Nhung lives with her mother, Le Thi Hoang (born 1977). She used to earn a living by selling lottery tickets, but her income was very unstable, so she had to switch to catching snails. Every day, Hoang had to wake up early, soak in the river to catch about 4-5kg of snails, but she didn't make much money selling them.
Regardless of rain or shine, she did not dare to take a day off because she was worried about her child going hungry. Only on days when she was sick could she rest a little. Feeling sorry for her mother's hard work, Cam Nhung often took advantage of her time after school to help her mother catch snails. What she feared most at the moment was that her mother's health was not good, she did not want to lose her most beloved person again.
Sharing in the program, Ms. Hoang said that her family is in difficulty but does not dare to borrow money because she is afraid that if she cannot pay it back, it will be a burden for her children. She herself goes out to catch snails to sell every day, trying to save a little each day. However, the amount of money saved has also decreased after she fell ill. Now, Ms. Hoang just hopes to be healthy to replace her husband to take care of her daughter's education.
Listening to the story of Cam Nhung's family, Lam Vy Da choked up because of her father's love for Cam Nhung. She felt sorry for her father who always thought of his family, hid his illness and then passed away forever. Besides, the image of the mother soaking in the water every day to catch snails, braving the sun and rain to earn money to raise her children also moved the female artist. Lam Vy Da was both moved and worried about Hoang's health. Having experienced loss herself, she understood very well what Cam Nhung was going through. For that reason, the actress decided to donate her annual insurance premiums to Hoang.
As for MC Thanh Thao, what moved her most was seeing the hope through Cam Nhung’s certificates of merit hanging in her house. In particular, she expressed her admiration for Cam Nhung’s thinking of “young people doing small things” even though she is still facing difficulties, she has thought about helping people in the future.
“In the future, I will try to study and work hard to be like many audiences here, there are people who do not have many conditions but still come to support the program and help me. I want to be like that in the future, when I grow up, I will use my small talent to help people in more difficult circumstances” , Cam Nhung shared in the program. The kindness of the 15-year-old girl made MC Thanh Thao emotional. The female MC promised to support Cam Nhung with all her heart when she passes the university entrance exam and comes to Ho Chi Minh City to study in the future.
The program Vietnamese Family Warmth airs at 8:20 p.m. every Friday on HTV7. The program is produced by Bee Media Company in collaboration with Ho Chi Minh City Television, with the support of Hoa Sen Home Construction Materials & Interior Supermarket System (Hoa Sen Group) and Hoa Sen Plastic Pipe - Source of Happiness.
