Accordingly, at about 9:30 p.m. on October 7, during patrol and control at sea, arriving at the area with coordinates 10°56'28''N - 108°14'2''E, the Thanh Hai Border Guard Station patrol team coordinated with Squadron 2 to discover and arrest two fishing boats BTh 99588 TS operated by Mr. Pham Ba Hien and BTh 99248 TS operated by Mr. Huynh Van Tuan Em (both residing in Phu Thuy ward, Lam Dong province) while exploiting seafood using double trawl nets (flying rakes) in the wrong direction.
The patrol team quickly approached the vessels and asked the two fishing boats to stop their violations and made a record. At the same time, they organized to bring the violators and vessels to Phu Hai Port (Phu Thuy Ward) for handling according to the law.
It is known that recently, the Provincial Border Guard force has synchronously deployed measures to effectively combat illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing in the province. At the same time, it has stepped up propaganda of legal regulations to fishermen and fishing boat owners; closely managed and monitored fishing boats when leaving and entering ports and strictly handled violations.

Patrolling, detecting and strictly handling fishing vessels using double trawl nets (flying trawlers) to exploit in the wrong sea area demonstrates the determination of the provincial Border Guard force in fighting and preventing activities of exploiting and destroying marine resources near the shore. This activity contributes to protecting aquatic resources, joining hands with the whole country to remove the EC "yellow card" and move towards sustainable fisheries development.
