Information from the Investigation Police Agency of Lao Cai Provincial Police, this unit is investigating the case of "Violating regulations on research, exploration, and exploitation of natural resources; Money laundering and Abusing positions and powers while performing official duties" occurring in village 2, Dong Tuyen commune, Lao Cai city, Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee and related agencies and units according to Decision No. 02/QD-CSKT dated July 3, 2023 of the Investigation Police Agency of Lao Cai Provincial Police.
Based on the investigation results, on August 4, the Investigation Police Agency of Lao Cai Provincial Police issued Decisions to prosecute the accused, Arrest Warrants for temporary detention and Search Warrants for the residence and workplace of Mr. Le Ngoc Duong, born in 1969; registered permanent residence at house number 026, Le Lai Street, Group 26, Kim Tan Ward, Lao Cai City; former Head of the Mineral Management Department, former Deputy Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Lao Cai Province; currently Chairman of the People's Committee of Muong Khuong District, to investigate the crime of "Abusing position and power while performing official duties" according to the provisions of Clause 3, Article 281, Penal Code 1999.
The above decisions and orders were approved by the Lao Cai Provincial People's Procuracy. Currently, the Lao Cai Provincial Police Investigation Agency is coordinating with the Lao Cai Provincial People's Procuracy to investigate and clarify according to the provisions of law.
