According to Bild , this new contract will bring Bayern up to 325 million euros over the next 5 years, helping to strengthen the financial position of the "Gray Tigers" in German football.
The new deal will run from 2027 and is a significant increase on the previous deal. Telekom will pay around €65m a year, compared to around €50m under the old deal. This increase of almost 30% is an impressive figure in a context where European football is under great financial pressure.
Telekom had previously faced competition from Emirates, the UAE airline that wanted to brand Bayern's shirts. However, Telekom still won the battle for the sponsorship rights with Bayern.
Telekom has been a regular sponsor of the German national team for over 20 years. The telecommunications company has been on the jerseys of the German national team since 2002.
The deal now allows Bayern to maintain their long-term partnership with Telekom, while also strengthening their financial advantage over their domestic rivals. The "Gray Tigers" will have more transfer funds to continue investing heavily in the squad and infrastructure, thereby improving their competitiveness both domestically and on the continental stage.
