Abandoned newborn baby girl with letter in Ho Chi Minh City

(Dan Tri) - Next to an abandoned newborn baby girl in Vinh Loc B commune (Binh Chanh district), people discovered a letter written by the baby's mother asking someone to help raise the child.

On January 15, the People's Committee of Vinh Loc B commune, Binh Chanh district (HCMC), issued a notice to find relatives of an abandoned baby girl in the area.

At around 8:50 p.m. on January 11, Mr. Le Van Thang, residing in Hamlet 30 (Vinh Loc B Commune), discovered a newborn baby girl placed in a plastic basket, abandoned in front of a house without a number in the locality.

Next to the baby was a letter that read: "I am a student and cannot raise a child. I hope a family will find me and adopt me. I was born on January 9, 2025. Thank you."

Mr. Thang carried the baby and reported to the local authorities. The girl was then taken to the hospital by ward officials for a health check.

The People's Committee of Vinh Loc B commune announced that after 7 days without any relatives coming to claim the baby, the authorities will prepare documents to handle the case according to the law.
