Closing and Award Ceremony of Danang Asian Film Festival

On the evening of July 6, at the Ariyana International Convention Palace, Da Nang city, the second Da Nang Asian Film Festival closed and awarded prizes to the winning films.

The Organizing Committee awarded the NETPAC Award for Outstanding Vietnamese Film to the film Lat mat 7: Mot giau uoc by director Ly Hai.

The festival has a total of 14 awards in 2 categories: The Asian Film Competition Award category is decided by the Asian Film Jury. The Vietnamese Film Competition Award category is decided by the Vietnamese Film Jury. Along with that is the NETPAC Award for the best Vietnamese film decided by the NETPAC Jury, selected from the Vietnamese Film Competition and the Audience Award for the most favorite Vietnamese film voted by the audience in the films participating in the "Today's Vietnamese Cinema" program.

As a result, the Organizing Committee of the Film Festival awarded prizes for the following categories: The award for the most favorite Vietnamese film voted by the audience was given to the animated series: Mr. Tao's Carp, Unique Khoai Village, and the Funny Lion Dance Team.

The NETPAC Award for Outstanding Vietnamese Film was given to the film Lat mat 7: Mot giau uoc by director Ly Hai.

In the category of Vietnamese Film Awards: the category of “Best Screenwriter” did not have any screenwriters awarded. The category of “Best Actor” was awarded to actor Thai Hoa in the film “Con Nhót nhớt chồng”. The category of “Best Actress” was awarded to actress Phuong Anh Dao in the film “Mai”. The category of “Best Director” was awarded to Tran Thanh in the film “Mai”. The award for the best cast was awarded to the actors in the film Lat mat 7: Mot giau uoc. The award for the best Vietnamese film was the film “Mai”.

In the Asian Film Awards: The “Best Screenplay” category was awarded to Liu Jiayin in the film “Deserving Lives”. The “Best Actor” category was awarded to Wu Kang Ren in the film “Eternal Wish”. The “Best Actress” category was awarded to Yuumi Kawai in the film “Ann’s Life”. The “Best Director” category was awarded to Pham Thien An in the film “Inside the Golden Cocoon”. The Special Jury Award category was awarded to “Ann’s Life”. The Award for Best Asian Film category was awarded to the film “Cu Li Khong Bao Cuong”.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the festival, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee Tran Chi Cuong said that the 2nd Da Nang Asian Film Festival in 2024 with the theme "Asian Bridge" has brought Da Nang a vibrant and colorful film week. This is the second time Da Nang has successfully organized an international film event. Many activities took place such as film screenings for the public at cinema complexes, outdoor film screenings, film crew introductions, artist exchange programs and international seminars and talks... In particular, for the first time in Vietnam, DANAFF II awarded the Film Achievement Award to an outstanding filmmaker: Director - People's Artist Dang Nhat Minh. All of these left a good impression on the public, students, managers and experts in the field of cinema.

According to Vice President Tran Chi Cuong, this film festival not only gathers and honors outstanding cinema works, DANAFF II also hopes to create a space to nurture and incubate talent - one of the important beginnings in creating a cinema ecosystem. That is one of the solid foundations towards building a city of cinema events, contributing to the development of cultural industries.

The Da Nang Asian Film Festival took place from July 2 to 6 with many exciting and attractive activities attracting locals, tourists, famous domestic and international actors and directors to attend.
