On December 26, the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province announced that the Government Office has just announced the direction of Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha on the project to build Khanh Hoa General Hospital into a final-line hospital in the South Central Coast region.

Accordingly, the Deputy Prime Minister directed the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province to implement the announcement of the conclusion of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at the working session with the Standing Committee of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee to ensure the completion of the project to build Khanh Hoa General Hospital in accordance with the objectives and scale of the final hospital of the South Central Coast region in the spirit of Resolution No. 09-NQ/TW dated January 28, 2022 of the Politburo on building and developing Khanh Hoa province to 2030, with a vision to 2045.
The Government assigned the Ministry of Health to be responsible for providing technical guidance and assigning end-line tasks to Khanh Hoa General Hospital in the first quarter of 2024 to ensure proper implementation of the assigned goals in Resolution No. 09-NQ/TW mentioned above of the Politburo.
According to the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province, it is expected that the new general hospital will be built on an 11-hectare land in Vinh Thai commune, Nha Trang city with a scale of 1,500 beds, costing about 4,450 billion VND, to be completed by the end of 2027.
The current Khanh Hoa General Hospital was built before 1975. After that, the hospital built a number of additional buildings to meet the increasing demand for medical examination and treatment.
Currently, Khanh Hoa General Hospital has 4 centers, 8 functional rooms, 20 clinical departments, 8 paraclinical departments, providing health care for people in the province and neighboring areas.
