Transporting patients to Truong Sa island infirmary. |
Accordingly, on the evening of October 6, fisherman Nguyen Van Cha (born in 1980, from Khanh Hoa province), a worker on fishing boat QNg 90789 TS of Quang Ngai province, after diving about 25m (three consecutive times, each time nearly an hour) to exploit seafood, experienced weakness in both legs and pain in the epigastric region.
At 11:00 on October 7, DK1/9 Platform (Ba Ke Cluster) received and provided first aid to patient Nguyen Van Cha when he experienced severe abdominal pain, fatigue, and high blood pressure. After first aid, the patient was guided to Truong Sa Island for treatment.
Captain Nguyen Xuan Cuong - Chief of the Truong Sa Island Infirmary said that upon admission, the patient was conscious but tired, had weak legs, blood pressure of 140/100 mmHg, and was diagnosed with type II hypotension, a complication of thoracic spinal cord injury. Doctors promptly applied a treatment regimen including oxygen therapy, anticoagulants, anti-inflammatory drugs, antibiotics, pain relievers, and fluid replacement; and held an online consultation with Military Hospital 175 to agree on a treatment plan.
Currently, the patient is being actively cared for by Truong Sa Island Infirmary, closely monitoring his health and maintaining regular contact with Military Hospital 175 to adjust the appropriate treatment regimen.
