Nam Nha Trang Ward inspects African swine fever prevention and control work

On the afternoon of October 8, the Animal Disease Prevention and Control Inspection Team of Nam Nha Trang Ward inspected and propagated the implementation of African swine fever prevention and control work in the residential groups: Phuoc Loc, Phuoc Son, Phuoc Ha.

The inspection results showed that all households were informed and instructed on disease prevention and control measures. Immediately after detecting the epidemic, the authorities coordinated with specialized agencies to spray disinfectant, sprinkle lime powder, bury sick pigs; set up checkpoints to control the transportation of pigs in and out of the epidemic area; reviewed the entire pig herd; and required households to sign a commitment to comply with disease prevention and control regulations.

On October 8, the Ward People's Committee established a team to inspect the prevention and control of animal diseases in the ward, consisting of 6 members, headed by the Head of the Economic , Infrastructure and Urban Department. The team is responsible for inspecting and supervising the compliance with regulations on disease prevention and control in residential groups. The ward has also established 8 teams to mobilize the prevention and control of animal diseases in 8 residential groups: Phuoc Loi, Phuoc Loc, Phuoc Thuong, Phuoc Son, Phuoc Tan, Phuoc Thuy, Phuoc Ha and Vinh Xuan, with the task of propagating and mobilizing people to comply with regulations on prevention and control of animal diseases, promptly reporting to the ward about new cases.

According to a quick survey, the total herd of pigs in the ward is 2,150; from October 1 to 8, 154 sick pigs had to be destroyed, concentrated in the residential groups: Phuoc Loc, Phuoc Son, Phuoc Ha.
