Coming to Yen Thinh village, Thanh Tam commune (Thach Thanh), we heard the villagers mention Mr. Dinh Van Dat (born in 1962) as a party cell secretary and village chief who is very attentive and devoted to collective work.
Yen Thinh village has 106 households and 431 people. To develop the economy , Mr. Dat, together with the Party Committee, the Front Committee and the village's mass organizations, promoted propaganda and mobilized people to actively change the structure of crops and livestock, apply science and technology in production to increase productivity and quality such as: Converting rice land without proactive irrigation to growing fruit trees; introducing new rice varieties with high productivity and quality into cultivation...
Implementing the policy of building new rural areas, although Yen Thinh village encountered many difficulties, with the propaganda motto "slow and steady wins the race", Yen Thinh people were clearly aware of their responsibility as the subject in building new rural areas, voluntarily contributing working days, contributing money to build roads, cultural houses, etc. Therefore, in 2016, Yen Thinh village was recognized as meeting new rural standards. Next, the village determined to build a model new rural village and by 2019, the village met the model new rural standards.
According to the report, implementing the movement to build a new model rural area, Yen Thinh village has mobilized more than 11 billion VND, of which the people contributed more than 9 billion VND and 5,000 working days. Currently, the material and spiritual life of the people in the village has been clearly improved, the average income per capita in 2022 reached 67.8 million VND/year; 92% of families achieved the title of cultural family; the poverty rate decreased to 1.8%.
With the thought that he wants people to understand, believe, and follow, he must first be a role model in local movements as well as in developing the family economy, Mr. Dat has strived to overcome difficulties to develop the economy and become a high-income household in the village. Currently, 2 hectares of pineapple and acacia trees are growing well, bringing quite high economic efficiency. With Mr. Dat's comprehensive economic model and other sources of income, his family has an average income of about 350 million VND/year.
Mr. Dinh Van Dat shared: I always listen to opinions, grasp the thoughts and aspirations of party members and the masses to reflect to superiors for timely resolution. For the work of the Party cell and the village, before implementing, I bring it to the Party cell for party members to meet and discuss and get public opinions from the people, thereby creating high consensus and unity. If I want people to believe and follow, I myself must be exemplary, responsible, take the lead in everything, and must put the interests of the people first.
Secretary of Thanh Tam Commune Party Committee Nguyen Quang Nam said: Comrade Dat is a secretary and village chief who is always enthusiastic and dedicated to his work; always upholding the spirit, responsibility, and being a pioneer in patriotic emulation movements, successfully completing all tasks assigned by the Party Committee and the Commune People's Committee. Recently, he was awarded a certificate of merit by the Chairman of Thach Thanh District People's Committee for his outstanding achievements in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and style in the period of 2021-2023.
