Provincial Party Secretary Do Trong Hung attended the ceremony to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Quang Trung Commune Party Committee and receive the commune's recognition as a model New Rural Area.

On the morning of March 1, Quang Trung commune (Quang Xuong) solemnly celebrated the 70th anniversary of the founding of the commune Party Committee and received the decision to recognize the commune as a model New Rural commune.

Attending the ceremony were comrades: Do Trong Hung, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Head of the Steering Committee for National Target Programs of Thanh Hoa province; Major General Vu Xuan Hung, Standing member of the National Defense and Security Committee of the National Assembly; Pham Thi Thanh Thuy, member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; Le Duc Giang, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of provincial departments and branches and Quang Xuong district.

70 years ago, on March 3, 1954, the Quang Xuong District Party Committee issued a Decision to establish the Quang Trung Commune Party Cell, the predecessor of the Quang Trung Commune Party Committee today, with 62 Party members. The establishment of the Quang Trung Commune Party Cell was an important turning point, marking the steady development of the revolutionary movement in the commune. From 1954 to 1975, the Party Committee and People of Quang Trung Commune both built the material and technical foundations of socialism and contributed human and material resources to the resistance war against the invading American imperialists. During the period when the American imperialists conducted a war of destruction in the North by air force and navy, the heroic land of Quang Trung and Ben Phe Ghep had to bear thousands of tons of bombs and bullets from the American invaders. With special achievements in the resistance war, in 1996, the People and armed forces of Quang Trung Commune were honored to be awarded the noble title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces by the State; In 2015, martyr Nguyen Ba Ngoc was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces; many collectives and individuals were awarded many other noble awards.

Over 70 years of construction and development, the Quang Trung Commune Party Committee has gone through 28 Congress terms, including 5 Party Cell Congresses and 23 Party Congresses. In any historical period, the Quang Trung Commune Party Committee has always upheld the spirit of great solidarity, performed well the role of leading the political system in implementing emulation movements, achieved many important achievements and results, and built Quang Trung Commune to develop more and more.

In particular, in the period from 2010 to present, promoting the strengths of the locality, Quang Trung commune has made good use of the economic policies of the Party and the State, taking advantage of the leadership and direction of superiors, gradually innovating the methods of leadership, administration and management, mobilizing all resources for investment in production and business development, improving people's income and life. After 13 years of implementing the National Target Program on building new rural areas, advanced new rural areas, and model new rural areas, Quang Trung commune has mobilized over 1,200 billion VND to invest in infrastructure works, socio-cultural institutions, renovating residential houses, developing production models, and building household gardens. Of which, people have contributed over 840 billion VND, donated nearly 19,000m2 ^of land, along with thousands of working days to build new rural areas. At the end of 2023, Quang Trung was recognized as a model New Rural commune.

At the ceremony, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Do Trong Hung and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Duc Giang presented the Decision of the Provincial People's Committee Chairman recognizing the commune as meeting the model new rural standards and 1 billion VND of the Provincial People's Committee to the commune for successfully building a model new rural area.
