At the meeting, Lao Cai Provincial People's Council announced the Resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee on appointing personnel for the Provincial People's Council.

Accordingly, comrade Trinh Xuan Truong, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, was appointed to hold the position of Chairman of the Lao Cai Provincial People's Council for the 2021-2026 term. Comrade Vu Quynh Khanh, Hoang Thi Thanh Binh, and Ly Binh Minh were appointed to hold the position of Vice Chairmen of the Lao Cai Provincial People's Council.

The meeting considered, discussed and approved 6 resolutions including: Resolution on establishing Committees of the Provincial People's Council; Resolution on establishing the Office of the National Assembly Delegation and the Provincial People's Council; Resolution on establishing 14 specialized agencies under the Provincial People's Committee; Resolution on promulgating Working regulations, plan for organizing regular sessions and Resolution on the first session of the Provincial People's Council.

Closing the session, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Lao Cai Provincial People's Council Trinh Xuan Truong requested all levels, sectors and localities in the province to urgently complete the arrangement and consolidation of the organizational apparatus and personnel arrangement according to the projects, resolutions and decisions approved by competent authorities for the committees and agencies of the Provincial People's Council, specialized agencies under the Provincial People's Committee; ensure early stability, maintain smoothness in direction and operation, not to let gaps or bottlenecks occur in the implementation of tasks, or disrupt the lives of cadres, civil servants and people.

Immediately after reorganizing and stabilizing the apparatus, the Provincial People's Committee and the political system continue to promote the spirit of initiative, creativity, and make the highest efforts to comprehensively complete the socio-economic development goals and tasks in 2025 and the 2020-2025 term. Review and perfect mechanisms and policies associated with improving the effectiveness of implementation, creating breakthroughs in the legal corridor to promote rapid and sustainable development. In particular, it is necessary to pay special attention to researching and developing the Lao Cai Provincial Planning for the new period of 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050.

Strongly promote the supervisory role of the Provincial People's Council and each People's Council delegate, considering this one of the key tasks to ensure that people's power is exercised substantially and effectively.

The focus of supervision in the coming time needs to be on the organization and operation of the two-level local government apparatus, ensuring that policies and guidelines are implemented in the right direction, in line with reality and bring practical benefits to the people.
