Hanoi , May 8, 2024 - Joining the festive atmosphere of football-loving communities everywhere, the 7-a-side football tournament Bia Saigon Cup 2024 ( VPL-S5 ) (Vietnam Premier League - Season 5 ) was officially launched by VietFootball Joint Stock Company in collaboration with Saigon Beer, the leading brand of Saigon Beer-Alcohol-Beverage Corporation ( SABECO ).
This is the third consecutive year that Saigon Beer has accompanied the most anticipated tournament as the main sponsor, continuing to join hands to bring important milestones in the development of 7-a-side football in Vietnam as has been affirmed over the past 2 years. In the previous 2 seasons, from the qualifying round to the final round, VPL matches took place in the North, Central and South regions, becoming festivals with widespread influence, a true spiritual food for football fans.
Entering the 5th season, the 2024 Bia Saigon Cup National 7-a-side Football Championship (VPL-S5) will take place in 3 regions : Northern Region HPL-S11 (Hanoi Premier League - Season 1 1 ) in Hanoi; Southern Region SPL-S6 (Saigon Premier League - Season 6) in Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces and the Western region; Central and Central Highlands Region DPL -S 3 (Daklak Premier League - Season 2) in Dak Lak . The 8 strongest teams representing the regions will compete in the National Finals taking place in August.
2024 is also the 11th year on the journey of building and developing 7-a-side football - a "specialty" of Vietnamese football. With the cooperation of partner Bia Saigon, VPL has affirmed its position as the leading and prestigious 7-a-side football tournament, contributing a lot to promoting and popularizing this unique format as well as the goal of building a solid foundation for Vietnamese football. Vietfooball and Bia Saigon have continued to organize the National 7-a-side Super Cup after the first organization in 2023 between the champion of the National 7-a-side Football Championship and the National 7-a-side Football Cup, in addition to the International 7-a-side Football Tournament with the participation of representatives from Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia in the past 2 years.
From VPL, not only is a large community of players, lovers and passionate about football formed, but it also reflects the rich and diverse reality of life and affirms practical social and community values. In August 2023, the Vietnam Football Federation ( VFF ) The 7-a-side football competition rules have also been officially issued to acknowledge and join hands for the development of this unique sport.
