In this ranking, coach Mai Duc Chung and his team were awarded an additional 2.09 points thanks to a series of 3 consecutive wins in the 2026 Asian Championship Qualifiers (which is also the preliminary round of the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup).

Specifically, the team won 7-0 against Maldives, 6-0 against UAE and 4-0 against Guam.

Following the Vietnamese women's team in Southeast Asia is the Philippine women's team, ranked 39th in the world , up 2 places from the previous announcement. Meanwhile, the Thai women's team dropped 7 places, down to 53rd in the world.

On the continental level, the Vietnamese women's team is currently ranked 6th in Asia, after Japan (8th in the world), North Korea (10th), Australia (15th), China (16th) and South Korea (21st).

In the world's leading group, the Spanish women's team surpassed the US to take the No. 1 position, followed by Sweden - who rose three places thanks to their four-match winning streak at the 2025 UEFA European Women's Championship. The English women's team also improved their position, rising to No. 4, while Germany dropped to No. 5.

The current ranking reflects the stable performance of the Vietnamese women's team in recent times and is an important stepping stone for the team towards the goal of defending the championship at the 2025 Southeast Asian Women's Football Championship, taking place in Hai Phong and Phu Tho.

FIFA is expected to announce the next rankings on December 11, 2025.
