Hoi An and Da Nang beaches in top 10 most beautiful in Asia

An Bang Beach, Hoi An, and My Khe Beach , Da Nang ranked 5th and 6th in the top 10 most beautiful beaches in Asia voted by Tripadvisor.

Global travel review platform Tripadvisor announced the Travelers' Choice Best of the Best Beaches Asia 2024 rankings in late February.

Two Vietnamese representatives on the list are An Bang Beach in Hoi An, ranked 5th, and My Khe Beach in Da Nang, ranked 6th. In 2023, My Khe is the only Vietnamese representative to appear in this top, ranked 8th.

Tripadvisor describes An Bang Beach as having “it all,” with fine white sand, clear blue skies, and lush green surroundings, perfect for swimming and snorkeling. Adventurous travelers can enjoy parasailing, jet skiing, and windsurfing. Visitors can also relax on sun loungers under palm trees or cycle along the nearby paths.

My Khe offers visitors everything they need for a relaxing day on the beach, with fine sand, gentle waves and swaying coconut trees. Visitors can also swim and surf. "The beach is large and rarely crowded, so it's easy to grab a sun lounger and spend the day relaxing," the website describes.

Kelingking Beach, located on Nusa Penida Island, Indonesia, was named "most beautiful in Asia", followed by Banana in Thailand and Haeundae in South Korea. The remaining representatives in the top 10 include Nai Harn in Thailand, Benaulim and Radhanagar in India, Mirissa in Sri Lanka, and Melasti in Indonesia.

The voting criteria are based on popularity, convenience in accessing beaches, scenery, clean, blue water, and many activities for tourists both on land and underwater.

The Best of the Best Beaches Asia awards are part of the annual Travelers' Choice Best of the Best awards, which honor the world's and region's favorite destinations, hotels, restaurants, and activities. The categories will be announced yearly instead of all at once.

The rankings are based on expert and traveler reviews over a 12-month period. Of the 8 million listings on Tripadvisor, less than 1% are awarded a Best of The Best award, representing the level of excellence in the travel category.
