Turn Lumia 1020 into an iOS device

An interesting project that has attracted the attention of the tech enthusiast community was created by a reddit member named r/hackintosh when sharing an image of an iPhone SE 3 modified to fit the Lumia 1020 case - one of the iconic smartphones in Windows Phone history.

This project, made by r/hackintosh , uses all the internal components of the iPhone SE 3, including the 12 MP rear camera, Taptic Engine, and Touch ID sensor - all transplanted into the Lumia 1020 form factor. The SIM card tray, flash, and even 5G connectivity are all kept intact. Notably, the Lightning port has been switched out, which is actually an upgrade over the Lumia 1020's microUSB port.

According to the posted image, the Touch ID part is moved to the back of the phone to keep the design of the Lumia 1020. More interestingly, the Lumia 1020 still retains the camera shutter button to bring an experience similar to the Camera Control feature on the iPhone 16.

While adding a shutter button to the iPhone was a challenge, the creators found a way to keep the feature. Instead of a real shutter button, it was replaced with a second volume down button, allowing for taking photos while using the Camera app, which is considered an innovative solution.

In short, all the important elements of the Lumia 1020 are preserved in this unique phone project and it is really impressive that the product works quite well. Although the headphone jack is removed, this is still a unique and remarkable project in the technology world .
