Binh Dinh grants investment certificate for 1 billion USD project to Swedish enterprise

DNVN - This is one of the largest-ever projects in the field of textile waste recycling in Vietnam, expected to contribute positively to the goal of sustainable development and green transformation in the textile industry.

On June 12, at the Vietnam - Sweden business forum with the theme "Green transformation, digital transformation, innovation", held in Stockholm (Sweden), under the witness of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh , Mr. Ho Quoc Dung - Secretary of Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee, awarded the investment registration certificate for the Polyester fabric recycling production complex project to Syre Impact AB Company.

The Polyester fabric recycling complex project has a total investment of up to 1 billion USD (equivalent to about 24,970 billion VND), with the goal of recycling textile waste into PET plastic granules, serving the environmentally friendly textile industry. It is expected that when put into stable operation, the project will reach a capacity of 150,000 to 250,000 tons of PET products/year.

This is one of the largest-ever projects in the field of textile waste recycling in Vietnam, and is expected to contribute positively to the goal of sustainable development and green transformation in the textile industry in Vietnam. At the same time, it will create many jobs for local workers and promote economic and industrial growth in the South Central region. The project also demonstrates Binh Dinh province's strong commitment to the investment attraction strategy associated with green transformation and sustainable development.

During his working trip to Sweden, Binh Dinh Provincial Party Secretary Ho Quoc Dung had a working session with Ms. Susanna Campbell - President of Syre Group and the company's leadership to discuss the next steps for project implementation in Binh Dinh.

Mr. Ho Quoc Dung informed that the Prime Minister and Binh Dinh province are very interested in and welcome Syre Company to invest in a polyester fabric recycling complex in the direction of green, clean, circular production, making use of textile-related waste (especially prioritizing the maximum use of Vietnamese scrap materials), contributing to improving the environment.

The Secretary of Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee also discussed with the company's leaders about the use of modern technology, the use of local labor resources, finance and the project's contribution to local development...

Ms. Susanna Campbell - President of Syre Group said that currently, many investors have committed to contributing capital to the project such as H&M, TPG Rise Climate... She committed to supporting Binh Dinh province in green transformation and sustainable development.

At the same time, it is committed to using the most modern technology that meets international standards and will make the most of Vietnam's waste and related scrap as input materials for the factory during operation. Syre has also worked with Quy Nhon University to cooperate in developing and training human resources for the project.
