Di An City Police, Binh Duong Province said that the police agency has coordinated with relevant agencies to organize a crime scene investigation to clarify the tragic accident in which an old woman was bitten to death by a Pitbull dog.
The victim was Mr. D.TV (82 years old) living with his daughter on Thong Nhat Street, Binh Thang Ward.
According to the initial investigation, the victim's daughter, Tr.TTTh (44 years old), and her husband, NMT (41 years old), raised two dogs, Pitbull (a breed of dog originating from America, with a strong, muscular appearance, often used to participate in dog fighting...) and Becgie (a breed of sheepdog originating from Germany).
At around 7pm on May 17, the victim’s daughter took the Pitbull out to feed it. At this time, Ms. V. was lying on a hammock, about 15m away from the dog and shouted out.
The Pitbull ran up and bit Mrs. V.'s head. Because of her old age, Mrs. V. could not run away when the Pitbull bit her.
Discovering the incident, Ms. Th. ran to pull the dog out, but because the Pitbull was so large, she could not pull it out. The incident caused the old woman to die on the spot.
Through the investigation of the scene, the Investigation Agency recorded that the area where the incident occurred was a level 4 house with a concrete yard in front, inside the house there was a dog kennel with an iron frame structure, keeping 2 dogs of the Pitbull and German Shepherd breeds.
Immediately after receiving the news, the leaders of Di An City Police were present at the scene and handled the incident according to regulations.
