Binh Duong organizes women's cycling race under UCI scoring system

(NLDO) - Binh Duong will organize the first international women's cycling race in Vietnam, and the record-breaking race will take place in March.

On February 28, the organizing committee of the Binh Duong International Women's Cycling Tournament - Biwase Cup held a press conference to inform about the 15th season in 2025 with the theme "Aspiration to reach far - Raising the pinnacle of Vietnamese cycling".

This season, the Organizing Committee will organize two consecutive international races for the first time, including the "Biwase Tour of Vietnam 2025" International Women's Cycling Tournament and the "Biwase Cup 2025 Binh Duong International Women's Cycling Tournament".

The "Biwase Tour of Vietnam 2025" is part of the UCI competition system. This is the first women's cycling tournament in Vietnam to be recognized by the UCI as a point-based competition. The tournament organizers must meet UCI's conditions, many strict requirements, from prizes to referees and organization...

The tournament will take place from March 7 to 18, with 2 races with a total distance of up to 1,400km with 12 passes - a record with an average of 1 pass per day. This promises to bring fierce competitions between female cyclists from 10 domestic teams (Biwase Binh Duong, Biwase Con Voi Fertilizer, Ho Chi Minh City Vinama, Loc Troi An Giang Group, Dong Thap Lottery (2 teams), Military Zone 7, 620 Chau Thoi Vinh Long, Vinh Phuc , Thanh Hoa) and 14 international racing teams from France, Iran, Uzbekistan, Singapore, Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Mongolia, Chinese Taipei. In addition, there will be Russian, Australian, and Japanese players competing for participating clubs.

The two tournaments will have 12 stages and go through the provinces of Binh Phuoc, Dong Nai, Lam Dong, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan, Ba Ria Vung Tau and return to Binh Duong.

The "Biwase Tour of Vietnam 2025" began on the morning of March 7 at the Binh Duong Exhibition and Convention Center. The racers entered the first stage of the race, a distance of 82 km around Binh Duong New City.

Titles for athletes to compete in the tournament

In the next 4 stages, the race team will go through the provinces of Binh Phuoc, Dong Nai and Lam Dong with a total route of 555 km, including 4 mountain passes, including Chuoi Pass, Bao Loc Pass, Prenn Pass, and D'ran Pass to compete for the overall yellow jersey, green jersey, red dot jersey, white jersey, Miss Biwase pink jersey and the team championship.

The closing ceremony of the "Biwase Tour Of Vietnam 2025" tournament took place in the city of thousands of flowers, Da Lat, on March 12.

At the end of the tournament, the racers will continue to attend the opening ceremony of the 15th Binh Duong International Biwase Women's Cycling Tournament with the members including the competing teams and the addition of 4 domestic women's teams: Vinh Phuc, Thanh Hoa, 620 Chau Thoi Vinh Long and Dong Thap Lottery 2.

The race has 7 stages with a total route of 813km, starting from Da Lat city, Lam Dong province, passing through Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Dong Nai and finishing in Thu Dau Mot city (Binh Duong) on March 18.

During that journey, the racers had to conquer 8 passes, including Ru Ri, Ro Tuong, Luong Son, Cu Hin, Vinh Hy 1, 2, 3 and Khuong Hai.
