According to the plan, the project will construct new items: 3-storey building for medical examination and treatment of internal and external specialties, paraclinical testing, pharmacy; outdoor power station; leveling, technical infrastructure and auxiliary items such as internal roads, drainage ditches, lighting, trees, gates, fences... with a total area of about 1,500 m².
At the working session, Major General Nguyen Hong Nguyen, Deputy Chief of Office of the Ministry of Public Security, requested the Nghe An Department of Health to closely coordinate with local agencies and authorities to promptly redefine the planning, to have a plan to build a medical center in accordance with the general planning of the province.
The Department of Health and the Tuong Duong Medical Center need to urgently complete the documents and procedures, striving to start construction in early August of the lunar calendar, in order to soon put the center into operation. When completed, the project will meet the needs of medical examination, treatment and health care for the people of Tuong Duong district and the people of Laos.
Tuong Duong Medical Center was established on the basis of merging the District General Hospital and the old Tuong Duong District Medical Center, according to Decision No. 39/QD-UBND dated January 5, 2017 of the People's Committee of Nghe An province. The center is a grade III medical examination and treatment unit, commune level, with a total of 130 beds, the planned number of beds by 2030, oriented to 2050 is 200 beds; with modern medical examination and treatment equipment. The center includes 13 clinical and paraclinical departments, 5 functional rooms.
During the recent storm No. 3, Tuong Duong Medical Center suffered heavy damage. The entire first floor was flooded, completely isolating 13 staff, doctors, and 140 patients and their families. Many important medical equipment such as X-ray machines, ventilators, oxygen machines, disinfectants, etc. were damaged; the main medicine warehouse was also seriously affected. This reality further demonstrates the necessity and urgency of soon building and completing a new medical center to ensure safety and improve the quality of health care for the people.
