On January 12, the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued Decision No. 63/QD-BCT on revoking the Certificate of eligibility to act as a petroleum wholesaler for Hai Ha Waterway Transport Company Limited (headquartered at No. 132, Zone 6, Diem Dien Town, Thai Thuy District, Thai Binh Province). The Decision takes effect from the date of signing.
On the same day, the Ministry of Industry and Trade sent a document to the Vietnam National Petroleum Group, Vietnam Oil Corporation - Joint Stock Company, and Military Petroleum Corporation to ensure the supply of gasoline and oil in Thai Binh, Hai Phong, Hanoi , and Quang Ninh.
In carrying out state management of petroleum business activities, the Ministry of Industry and Trade requests enterprises to prepare goods to increase the supply of petroleum to petroleum retail stores in the distribution system of enterprises in Thai Binh province, Hai Phong city, Hanoi city and Quang Ninh province, contributing to ensuring the supply of petroleum for the domestic market, preventing a shortage of petroleum supply in the above provinces and cities, especially during the upcoming Lunar New Year 2024.
On January 12, Thai Binh Provincial Police said that they had coordinated with the Investigation Police Agency (C03), the Ministry of Public Security and related units to conduct a search and inventory at the petroleum depot of Hai Ha Waterway Transport Company Limited (Hai Ha Petro) located in Thai Thuong commune, Thai Thuy district.
After that, the authorities sealed and handed over the property to the police and local authorities for temporary management and custody to serve the investigation process at this enterprise.
The Border Guard Force of Thai Binh province was also notified by the investigation agency to request management of maritime transport activities for oil tankers owned by Hai Ha Petro. Temporarily suspend the transport and circulation of goods on the sea for these ships.
Previously, from around 3:00 p.m. on January 9, a large number of forces from mobile police, special police, and traffic police appeared outside the headquarters of Hai Ha Waterway Transport Company Limited (Hai Ha Petro) in Diem Dien town, Thai Thuy district, Thai Binh province.
The incident caused a stir, attracting the attention and follow-up of many local people.
This development occurred just 5 days after the Government Inspectorate announced the conclusion of the inspection of compliance with policies and laws in State management of petroleum on the afternoon of January 4.
The inspection agency has transferred the case to the Ministry of Public Security for consideration and handling according to legal regulations for violations of the law in declaring and paying environmental protection tax on gasoline and oil and the use of the Price Stabilization Fund for the wrong purpose of price stabilization at Hai Ha Petro.
