Ministry of Industry and Trade organizes business delegation to participate in the 7th China International Import Expo

The delegation of the Ministry of Industry and Trade led by Deputy Minister Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan attended the Opening Ceremony of the 2024 Hongqiao International Economic Fair and Forum.

Implementing the National Program on Trade Promotion in 2024, the Department of Trade Promotion organized a Vietnamese business delegation to participate in the CIIE 2024 Fair with 2 main contents.

The Vietnam National Pavilion has an area of 132m2 focusing on introducing, promoting information, achievements and economic potential, promoting investment, trade and tourism of Vietnam.

Next to the National Pavilion is the Commercial Pavilion of Vietnamese enterprises with a total exhibition area of 600m2 of 50 enterprises specializing in food and processed agricultural products.

At this year's CIIE, the Vietnamese business delegation has many units with good export capacity and prestigious, quality brands: TH True Milk, Trung Nguyen Coffee, Ben Tre Import-Export Joint Stock Company, Visimex Joint Stock Company, Vietnam Pepper Joint Stock Company, Vietnam Agricultural and Foodstuff Import-Export Joint Stock Company...

CIIE is a national-level fair jointly organized by the Ministry of Commerce of China, the Shanghai Municipal People's Government and the China International Import Expo Bureau. The fair is an initiative of General Secretary and President Xi Jinping of China to promote the construction of an open world economy and contribute to economic globalization. Since its first holding in 2018, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council of China have attached great importance to this fair. President Xi Jinping has delivered speeches at the opening ceremonies of five consecutive fairs and sent a letter to the opening ceremony of the seventh fair.

Vietnam's participation in the annual CIIE Fair not only contributes to promoting the country's image in terms of economy, investment and tourism, but also provides a good opportunity to increase official and sustainable exports to the Chinese market, promote the brand and image of Vietnamese enterprises to China and other countries in the world, in order to attract foreign investment, create conditions for Vietnamese enterprises to seek markets and expand business.

China has now become one of Vietnam's largest partners. According to statistics from the General Department of Vietnam Customs, in the first 9 months of 2024, Vietnam's import-export turnover with China reached 149.2 billion USD, up 21.9% over the same period in 2023. Of which, Vietnam's exports to China reached 44.4 billion USD, up 2.9% over the same period in 2023; Vietnam's imports from China reached 104.8 billion USD, up 32.2% over the same period in 2023.

In order to introduce the overall dynamic development of the Vietnamese food industry, and at the same time create favorable conditions for businesses to access, expand and develop domestic and foreign consumption markets through connecting with wholesale and retail distribution systems, import partners and prospective investors, from November 13 to 16, 2024, the Vietnam International Food Industry Exhibition 2024 - Vietnam Foodexpo 2024, the largest international trade promotion event in the field of food, agricultural and aquatic products in Vietnam, chaired by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and assigned by the Trade Promotion Agency to coordinate with domestic and international partners, will take place at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC, Ho Chi Minh City).

Vietnam Foodexpo 2024 is a large-scale event with over 500 booths of nearly 400 enterprises from more than 30 provinces and cities of Vietnam and nearly 20 countries/territories. The exhibition is a major demonstration of the Vietnamese food industry, honoring the national brand value of Vietnamese food, with the participation of leading manufacturers and exporters, meeting the world's strict standards for food and beverages, contributing to bringing Vietnamese food to the most demanding markets in the world.
