Cows of leaders of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Vinh Long were roaming freely and defecating in the children's room.

On October 9, a clip of more than 30 seconds appeared on social media, recording images showing cow dung scattered from the hallway into a room covered with foam carpet, believed to be at the Social Work Center, under the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Vinh Long (Thanh Duc commune, Long Ho district, Vinh Long). The clip was accompanied by information that these two cows belonged to the leaders of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Vinh Long, were roaming freely and defecating in the classroom of the specialized education area for children with disabilities and autistic children.

Thanh Nien reporters went to the Social Work Center to find out what happened. An employee of the center said that the two cows were "taken in" by the leaders of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Vinh Long because the area was very large and had a lot of grass. This person added that many employees had complained to the center's leaders about the cows being let loose and defecating.

According to the center’s staff, there are about 20 autistic and disabled children receiving intervention and support in this area. It is known that the above incident occurred on September 2. The staff cleaned up and reported to the center’s leaders for handling, however, the 2 cows were still allowed to roam freely.

Thanh Nien reporters contacted Mr. Nguyen Van Chau, Deputy Director of the Social Work Center. However, at 10:45, Mr. Chau was not present at the office. Speaking over the phone, Mr. Chau said that the two cows were sent by the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Vinh Long, so he asked reporters to contact the department, but he himself could not answer.

Regarding the incident, Mr. Tran Van Khai, Director of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Vinh Long, said that because the headquarters had a large land area, he "kept" 2 cows there and admitted that there were shortcomings and would immediately remove them.
