On May 29, the Party Committee of the Border Guard of Thanh Hoa province held a conference to review 5 years of implementing Resolution 24-NQ/TW dated April 16, 2018 of the Politburo on Vietnam's National Defense Strategy. Attending the conference were comrades in the Party Committee and the Provincial Border Guard Command; comrades who are Secretaries and Deputy Secretaries of Party cells and grassroots Party committees. Colonel Hoang Van Hung, Party Committee Secretary and Political Commissar of the Provincial Border Guard chaired the conference.

Over the past 5 years, the Party Committee of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Border Guard has focused on leading, directing, thoroughly grasping and organizing the serious and effective implementation of Resolution 24-NQ/TW; strictly following the leadership and direction of the Party Committee, the Border Guard Command, the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee; being proactive and creative in leading, directing, overcoming difficulties to successfully complete the task of protecting sovereignty and border security.
Notably, proactively grasped, forecasted, and correctly assessed the situation, promptly advised and proposed to the Party Committee, the Border Guard Command, the Provincial Party Committee, and the Provincial People's Committee many policies and measures on building, managing, and protecting territorial sovereignty, border security, and maritime zones; participated in building a strong defense zone; strengthened propaganda and mobilization work for the people; closely coordinated with local levels, sectors, and forces to properly, promptly, and effectively handle situations and incidents occurring on the border and maritime zones, avoiding being passive or surprised; maintained border laws well; effectively fought against all types of crimes, especially drug-related crimes; actively participated in socio-economic development, consolidated political bases, effectively resolved ethnic and religious issues, improved combat readiness and capabilities; built a peaceful and friendly border between Thanh Hoa and Hua Phan provinces.
At the conference, delegates discussed the limitations and causes in the implementation of the resolutions; at the same time, proposed directions, tasks, contents, measures and solutions to improve the effectiveness of dissemination, study and implementation of the resolutions; and special propaganda work in the coming time.

Concluding the conference, Colonel Hoang Van Hung, Party Secretary and Political Commissar of Thanh Hoa Border Guard, requested Party committees and commanders of affiliated agencies and units to continue to thoroughly grasp and strictly implement Resolution No. 24-NQ/TW of the Politburo; widely propagate and educate each officer and soldier so that they deeply understand the viewpoints, guidelines and policies of the Party and State on the two strategic tasks of building and defending the Fatherland in the new period.
Proactively advise the Party Committee and the Provincial Border Guard Command on policies and solutions for leadership and direction of border work and border and sea protection tasks; closely coordinate with local Party committees, authorities, and functional forces to promptly and effectively detect, combat, and handle complicated incidents and hotspots that cause political insecurity and social order and safety in border areas, avoiding being passive or surprised in any situation.

On this occasion, authorized by the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial Border Guard Party Committee awarded Certificates of Merit of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee to 3 collectives and 3 individuals who achieved the standard of "Excellent completion of tasks" for 5 consecutive years (2018-2022).
