Ministry of Planning and Investment awarded the Commemorative Medal to the Chairman of the Japan Business Association in Vietnam

(MPI) – On March 25, 2024, the Ministry of Planning and Investment awarded the Medal "For the cause of the Planning and Investment sector in Vietnam" to Mr. Kinoshita Tadahiro, Chairman of Sojitz Vietnam Co., Ltd., Chairman of the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vietnam (JCCI) to recognize his contributions to the process of building and developing the Planning and Investment sector in Vietnam.

At the reception, Mr. Do Nhat Hoang, Director of the Foreign Investment Agency, Ministry of Planning and Investment, thanked and appreciated Japan's valuable contributions and support in terms of resources and technology for Vietnam and the close and effective cooperation of JCCI in promoting cooperation in the field of development cooperation between the two countries.

As Co-Chair of the Japan-Vietnam Joint Initiative, Mr. Kinoshita Tadahiro has implemented Phase 8 of the initiative and contributed to developing the investment environment for investments from Japan. He has contributed to the implementation of the High-level Seminar to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Japan diplomatic relations and launched Phase 9 of the Vietnam-Japan Joint Initiative in March 2023. At the same time, he has organized many cultural, economic and sports activities, contributing to strengthening the relationship between Vietnam and Japan.

Mr. Do Nhat Hoang also expressed his hope that in the new term, Mr. Kinoshita Tadahiro will continue to support cooperation in all aspects with Vietnam, further promote Japanese investment activities in Vietnam, to deepen the Vietnam - Japan relationship, continuing the successful relationship between the Ministry of Planning and Investment and JCCI in the past time.

Mr. Kinoshita Tadahiro acknowledged and thanked the support and assistance of the Ministry of Planning and Investment during his tenure in Vietnam from January 2019 to March 2024. At the same time, he affirmed that Vietnam is always an important partner of Japan; the two sides will continue to further develop the good cooperative relationship, including in new areas such as digital transformation, green growth, etc.

The Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) represents approximately 1.23 million member businesses across Japan, including large corporations, small and medium-sized enterprises. JCCI plays a core role in coordinating the implementation of specific tasks in each Working Group of the Vietnam - Japan Joint Initiative through the stages. JCCI members include Japanese businesses in Vietnam, who are members of the Working Groups in the Vietnam - Japan Joint Initiative.

On this occasion, authorized by the Ministry's leaders, Mr. Do Nhat Hoang, Director of the Foreign Investment Agency, awarded the Medal "For the cause of the Planning and Investment sector in Vietnam" to Mr. Kinoshita Tadahiro, Chairman of Sojitz Vietnam Co., Ltd., Chairman of the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vietnam (JCCI) and 3 individuals from the Vietnam - Japan Economic Committee, the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vietnam for their contributions to the process of building and developing the Planning and Investment sector in Vietnam./.
