(NADS) - On the morning of March 27, the Ministry of Finance held a conference to announce the decision to appoint Mr. Dinh Ngoc Thang as Deputy Director General of the General Department of Customs, concurrently holding the position of Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department. This decision will take effect from April 2, 2024.
Decision No. 499/QB-BTC on the appointment of Mr. Dinh Ngoc Thang as Deputy Director General of the General Department of Customs was signed by Minister of Finance Ho Duc Phoc on March 25. Deputy Minister of Finance Nguyen Duc Chi presented this appointment decision. Accordingly, Mr. Dinh Ngoc Thang will hold the position of Deputy Director General of the General Department of Customs from April 2.
Mr. Thang was born in 1967, his hometown is Hoa Khuong commune, Hoa Vang district, Da Nang city. He has a master's degree in law from Ho Chi Minh City University of Law and a senior degree in political theory.
Mr. Dinh Ngoc Thang has 29 years of experience working in the customs industry, from management positions at team, department, deputy branch, branch director, deputy director and director of the Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department.
In particular, since January 2016, he has been a civil servant of the Investment Customs Branch. He has also held many other important positions such as Deputy Head of the Investment Customs Branch, Head, Deputy Head of the Branch, Secretary of the grassroots Party Committee, Head of the Tan Son Nhat International Airport Customs Branch and Head of the Organization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department.
In his speech accepting the new assignment, Mr. Dinh Ngoc Thang expressed his gratitude to the Party Committee, the leaders of the Ministry of Finance and the General Department of Customs for trusting and appointing him to the position of Deputy Director General of the General Department of Customs after nearly 30 years of service in the industry. He emphasized that this is an extremely important responsibility that he is very honored and proud to be entrusted with.
After taking up the position, Mr. Thang pledged to devote himself, together with the leaders of the Ministry of Finance and the General Department of Customs, to improving the qualifications and capacity of all customs officials. He also pledged to accompany his colleagues in promoting customs reform, building a smart customs system, and contributing to building the Vietnamese customs brand to become increasingly professional and effective.
