Awarding prizes to teams with achievements in the contest "Sketch on preventing and combating social evils and good propagandists" for the 2024-2025 school year.
It can be seen that currently, drugs are being transformed in a sophisticated way to infiltrate life, including the school environment, through many methods. Under the guise of electronic cigarettes, shisha, "happy water", "laughing gas"... seemingly harmless, but when tempted, students will easily be lured, dependent on drugs and fall into a spiral of addiction.
As students - the future generation of the country, if they get involved in drugs, it will be a huge loss not only for their families and society, but also directly affect the quality of human resources. Some young people also have the misconception that the use of synthetic drugs is only for entertainment purposes and is not addictive. This is an extremely dangerous perception. Studies have shown that drug use causes great damage to the brain, reduces concentration, memory and the ability to absorb knowledge. Research results from the World Health Organization (WHO) also show that drug use can cause mental health problems such as anxiety, depression and neurological disorders, thereby affecting the quality of life and study of students. Therefore, equipping students with knowledge to improve their "resistance" to the dangers of drugs is always an urgent and important task.
Deputy Head of Student Affairs Department of Hong Duc University Le Van Huan said: Realizing the importance of drug prevention and control in the school environment, the school has actively promoted and educated students about the law through programs such as: Citizens' Activities Week - Students at the beginning of the course; news reporting sessions; conferences on signing commitments to comply with the law on security, order and traffic safety; contest "Sketch on prevention and control of social evils and good propagandists"... These activities always have close coordination between the school and the police force to provide evidence and practical information, contributing to raising awareness and sense of responsibility for students in drug prevention and control.
For example, through the contest “Sketches on preventing and combating social evils and good propagandists”, students have elaborately staged skits of drama, comedy, musical, opera... with many meaningful messages about preventing and combating social evils and drug abuse to the audience and a large number of students. Thereby, it also demonstrates students' understanding of social evils, drug abuse and how to prevent them; giving warnings about the sad consequences caused by drugs, gambling, lottery... At the same time, calling for the community's cooperation and contribution to preserve and protect a healthy school environment, free of violence, social evils and saying "no" to drugs.
Nguyen Thanh Tung, a student of K25, University of Physics Education, Hong Duc University, shared: “Previously, I only read about the knowledge and harmful effects of drugs through documents, the internet and communication activities at high school and where I live. While studying at Hong Duc University, I was able to directly participate in activities such as: Contest "Sketch on preventing and combating social evils and good propagandists"; signing a commitment to say no to drugs and social evils; participating in news reports... I am more aware of the harmful effects and unpredictable dangers of drugs to life. I will spread useful information on how to prevent and combat drugs, the harmful effects of drugs to my friends in class, at school, relatives and the community where I live".
According to Deputy Head of Student Affairs Le Van Huan, through communication activities, the school always requires and reminds each student to show strong determination in saying "no" to drugs through specific actions such as: Living a healthy life, not being indulgent, not following a deviant lifestyle; absolutely not curiously trying drugs, even just once; not participating in any acts of using, transporting, storing, trading drugs or enticing others to participate; promptly reporting to the school and authorities if detecting signs of friends or people around them using or trading drugs; not letting themselves be enticed or enticed into illegal activities...
In fact, drug prevention and control is not the responsibility of any individual, but the responsibility of the whole community, especially each individual student - the pioneer in building a healthy and civilized society. Each student should proactively equip themselves with knowledge to prevent early and from afar, clearly identify the harmful effects of drugs and take timely action. Each action of saying "no" to drugs today will be a "steel shield" to protect themselves and the community from the unpredictable dangers of drugs in the future.
