Authorized by the Head of the Ministry of National Defense , Head of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, Major General Cao Xuan Thang, Deputy Director of the Department of Social Policy (General Department of Politics), Director of Social Insurance of the Ministry of National Defense chaired the meeting.

Attending the meeting were comrade Nguyen Thi Kieu Loan, Deputy Director of the Department of Home Affairs of Dong Thap province, head of the delegation and 70 delegates of outstanding meritorious people of Dong Thap province.

Speaking at the meeting, Major General Cao Xuan Thang expressed his welcome, wished good health, and wished the delegation a successful visit to Hanoi .

Informing the delegates about some activities of the entire army in caring for policy beneficiaries and people with revolutionary contributions, the Deputy Director of the Department of Social Policy emphasized that in recent years, the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense have regularly paid attention to leading and directing functional agencies to closely coordinate with central departments, ministries, branches and localities to research, advise and propose to the Party and State to amend, promptly issue and supplement documents regulating policies for people with revolutionary contributions, military rear policies, and carefully organize the implementation of policies in all aspects of work: Searching for and collecting martyrs' remains; issuing certificates of war invalids and sick soldiers, "Fatherland's gratitude" certificates; providing one-time and monthly subsidies for those who participated in the resistance war against French colonialism, the resistance war against the US to save the country, participating in fighting to protect the Fatherland, and performing international missions in Laos and Cambodia; movements of “Repaying gratitude”, “Army joins hands to build new countryside”, “Army joins hands for the poor - No one is left behind; building and repairing houses of gratitude, houses of comrades; giving savings books; taking care of heroic Vietnamese mothers, sponsoring children of martyrs and seriously wounded soldiers; supporting the renovation and embellishment of works honoring martyrs; visiting and giving gifts to policy beneficiaries on holidays and Tet; supporting medical equipment and means for centers caring for wounded soldiers and people with meritorious services, etc.

The above activities have been actively implemented, practically celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2. The above actions of the cadres and soldiers of the entire army have contributed to the whole Party and the whole people in taking better care of the material and spiritual life of families with preferential policies and people with revolutionary contributions; educating cadres and soldiers, especially the younger generation, about the fine moral traditions of "When drinking water, remember its source" and "Repaying gratitude" of our nation.

On this occasion, authorized by the Head of the Ministry of National Defense, Head of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, Major General Cao Xuan Thang and comrade Nguyen Thi Kieu Loan presented 70 gifts (2 million VND and gifts/gift) to 70 delegates with meritorious services to the revolution in Dong Thap province.
