The Southern Airports Authority has just sent a document to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport regarding the use of buses to transport passengers from Tan Son Nhat International Airport to the transit station during the peak Tet holiday in 2025.
Accordingly, the Southern Airport Authority requested the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport to pay attention to and direct the implementation of passenger transfer from Tan Son Nhat airport to suitable locations to relieve passengers in case the number of arrivals is too large, the number of taxis, contract cars... is not enough to meet the travel needs of passengers.
At the same time, direct the deployment of cranes to promptly move vehicles with problems, avoiding congestion on routes connecting to the airport. The expected deployment time is from January 18 (December 19) to February 12 (January 15).
Previously, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam held a meeting to inspect and urge the work of serving people's travel needs well, ensuring traffic order and safety during the Lunar New Year and the Spring Festival of At Ty in 2025 at Tan Son Nhat International Airport.
Currently, the Southern Airport Authority and Tan Son Nhat International Airport have agreed to arrange two bus parking locations at the buffer zone in front of the International Arrivals Terminal to meet the travel needs of passengers.

In addition, 2 bus waiting positions and 1 crane parking position will be arranged in front of the Port Authority headquarters to transfer passengers out of Tan Son Nhat airport to prepare well for the peak Tet service, meeting the travel needs of passengers, especially during peak days.
At the same time, Tan Son Nhat airport has arranged 2 bus parking positions to pick up passengers at Lane B of the Domestic Terminal and will arrange additional bus parking positions to pick up passengers at Lane C of the Domestic Terminal when there is an arising need.
The peak was on December 24 with 901 trips, the lowest was on December 29 with 823 trips.
The number of passengers passing through the busiest airport in the country on peak days (December 26 and 27) reached nearly 150,000 passengers (an increase of 12.7% compared to the peak days before Tet 2024).
Compared to the Lunar New Year in 2024, this year, Tan Son Nhat operated about 6,100 more flights (8.7%) and nearly 900,000 more passengers (4%).
