Training on planning knowledge for cooperative staff

On the morning of May 15, Ha Tinh Cooperative Union organized a training course on business planning knowledge for staff of the Cooperative Union, the Provincial Cooperative Development Support Fund and representatives of cooperatives in Can Loc and Cam Xuyen districts.

The province currently has more than 1,000 cooperatives, of which nearly 920 are operating. The total number of cooperative and cooperative union management staff is currently more than 7,000 people, of which only 9% have received primary and intermediate training and only 5% have college and university degrees. Therefore, updating production and business knowledge for staff is extremely necessary to contribute to innovation and promote collective economic development.

During 3 days (May 15-17), more than 80 trainees who are chairmen of the board of directors, directors, and supervisory boards of cooperatives in Can Loc and Cam Xuyen districts were taught the following contents: General overview of production planning, guidance on business planning, market situation analysis and market participation capabilities.

Thereby, improving financial management capacity helps cooperative members understand how to operate, monitor and use financial resources effectively. At the same time, it helps cooperatives to be proactive in production and business planning; proactively allocate reasonable funding sources; and improve operational efficiency in cooperatives.

Mr. Hoang Khang - Senior CEFE Lecturer, Central Highlands - Central Economic and Technical College and HTC Cadre Training College spoke at the training session.

Through group discussions, delegates also practiced analyzing hypothetical situations related to building a vision, forming and selecting business ideas, making specific plans and building production processes according to the characteristics of each cooperative, each region and especially building a value chain.

At the training session, members also proposed and recommended some difficulties and obstacles in current production and business activities to aim at sustainable development of cooperatives.
