With the trust of the Asian Volleyball Confederation, from June 7 to June 14, 2025, the Vietnam Volleyball Federation will host the 2025 AVC Nations Cup Asian Women's Volleyball Tournament. at Dong Anh Stadium ( Hanoi ). This is the playground where Tran Thi Thanh Thuy and her teammates are the defending champions.
This is a tournament with the participation of 11 women's volleyball teams from countries and territories in Asia: Australia, India, Taiwan, Iran, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Hong Kong, Mongolia, New Zealand, Philippines and the Vietnam women's volleyball team.
Striker Tran Thi Thanh Thuy attended the press conference to launch the tournament on the afternoon of May 30 at the Vietnam Sports Administration.

The 11 teams are divided into 2 groups to compete in a round-robin format from June 7 to June 12. From June 13, based on the results of the group stage, the teams will compete to be ranked from 1 to 4 and from 5 to 11.
This is a tournament with annual FIVB Ranking points and the winner of this tournament is eligible to participate in the 2026 Asian Women's Championship.
Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet has finalized the list of 14 athletes for the Vietnamese women's volleyball team to participate in the 2025 AVC Nations Cup.
Names such as Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, Vi Thi Nhu Quynh, Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen, Hoang Thi Kieu Trinh, Le Thanh Thuy, Tran Thi Bich Thuy, Lam Oanh, Khanh Dang... are all on the official list.
This is also the strongest force that the Vietnamese women's volleyball team possesses. Most of the young faces that coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet summoned could not stay.
Chance of winning
As the host and defending champion of the AVC Nations Cup, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team is in Group A with Australia, India, Taiwan, Hong Kong, while Group B includes Kazakhstan, Philippines, Iran, Indonesia, Mongolia, and New Zealand.
Similar to the AVC Challenge Cup, the AVC Nations Cup does not feature the top Asian teams that have qualified for the FIVB Nations League, namely China, Japan, and Thailand. Therefore, Tran Thi Thanh Thuy and her teammates are considered the strongest in the 2025 AVC Nations Cup.

The most formidable opponent for coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team is the Kazakhstan team, currently ranked 31st in the world , 1 place above the Vietnamese team in the rankings of the World Volleyball Federation.

Not only continuing to affirm its leading position in regional volleyball with silver medals at the 31st and 32nd SEA Games, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team has gradually realized its ambition to conquer the continental and world arenas.
Under the leadership of Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team won the 2023 Asian Women's Club Championship (Vietnam), winning the right to represent Asia at the 2023 Women's Club World Championship in China; won the 2023 AVC Challenger Asian Championship (Indonesia), representing Asia at the FIVB Challenger (Laval, France); fourth place in the 2023 Asian Women's Championship (Thailand); top 4 for the first time at the 2023 ASIAD; won the 2024 AVC Challenger Asian Championship (Philippines), continuing to represent Asia at the FIVB Challenger; third place in the FIVB Challenger, marking the first time the team has achieved this achievement on the world stage; for the first time winning the right to participate in the World Championship held in Phuket, Thailand (August 2025).
