The Vietnam Women's Futsal Team has just officially gathered again to prepare for the 2024 Southeast Asian Women's Futsal Tournament taking place at the end of November.
Notably, in this training session, coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang and his team will have 2 matches with the Russian Women's Futsal Team in Ho Chi Minh City. The Russian Women's Futsal Team is ranked 7th in the world and is a worthy opponent for the Vietnamese Women's Futsal Team in the process of competing towards the goal of attending the World Cup.
With these 2 matches, Vietnamese football will have a total of 8 matches with Russian football in more than 1 year (from September 2023 to November 2024). Before that, the Vietnamese men's Futsal team met the Russian men's Futsal team in September 2023, the Vietnamese men's U20 Futsal team had 2 matches with the Russian men's U20 Futsal team in September 2024, the Vietnamese men's U20 team had 2 matches with the Russian men's U20 team in September 2024 and the Vietnamese men's national team met the Russian men's national team on September 5, 2024.
Also related to the Vietnam Women's Futsal Team, the AFC has conducted the draw for the 2025 Asian Women's Futsal Championship qualifiers. Accordingly, coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang and his team are in group D with opponents Myanmar (host), Chinese Taipei and Macau (China). This qualifier will take place in January 2025.
