On the afternoon of April 24, the program "Mai Vang Tri An" organized by Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper with the support of Nam A Commercial Joint Stock Bank, visited the homes of Intelligence Colonel Tu Cang (Nguyen Van Tau, head of intelligence cluster H63) and Intelligence Major General Sau Tri (Nguyen Van Khiem, head of intelligence cluster A20).
The visit took place at a time when the whole country was joyfully celebrating the 48th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2023).

The leaders of the two units said they were very happy and honored to visit the two veteran revolutionary cadres, especially during the historic days of April. At the same time, they expressed their wish that the two men would always be healthy and clear-minded, and forever be shining examples for the younger generations to follow. On this occasion, the "Mai Vang Tri An" program presented each veteran revolutionary cadre with 20 million VND.
Intelligence Colonel Tu Cang shares historical stories
Intelligence Colonel Tu Cang is 95 years old this year, living in his private home in Ward 25, Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City. He can still walk by himself and his mind is still clear. He still regularly participates in sharing sessions about the history and traditions of fighting the nation for agencies, units and especially the younger generation.
Intelligence Colonel Tu Cang presented a book he wrote to Mr. To Dinh Tuan, Editor-in-Chief of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper.
The visit to Intelligence Colonel Tu Cang turned into a very special historical storytelling session. The members of the delegation were all engrossed in listening to him recall historical stories, fierce battles and especially the event of April 30, 1975 that went down in the history of the nation.

Recalling the historic days of April 1975, he said that at that time he was participating in activities at the Special Forces Brigade. According to him, the Special Forces Brigade was tasked with guiding troops into Saigon; protecting bridges; attacking major targets such as the General Staff, ammunition depots, tank depots; and mobilizing people to sew flags.

Recalling the afternoon of April 30, 1975, Mr. Tu Cang said that at that time he was the Brigade Commander in Hoc Mon. At that time, he and the artillery observed the map, pointing out the points for our forces to fire artillery at.
Mr. Tu Cang compared his feelings towards the historical event of April 30, 1975 to "A farmer planting rice until harvest time". He continued: "On the evening of April 30, 1975, I returned to Thi Nghe area to meet my wife and children after decades of separation. I left my family to participate in revolutionary activities when my wife was pregnant. That day was also a happy day for my family. In the joy of the whole people, there was the joy of my family".
Saying goodbye to Intelligence Colonel Tu Cang, the program "Mai Vang Tri An" continued to visit Intelligence Major General Sau Tri. He is currently living with his third daughter in a house in Ward 25, Binh Thanh District. Although he cannot speak, through his eyes and smile, the program's producers can feel his happiness when the group visits.

His daughter, Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet (74 years old), said that he will turn 100 this June. He often watches movies about the Vietnamese revolution and can sometimes answer questions in French. His health has declined in the past three months since his wife passed away.
Talking to the group, Ms. Nguyet said she was very impressed with her father's teachings during the historic April days 48 years ago. At that time, my father always told us: "Whatever you do, you must learn, because after the country was liberated, it really needed people with expertise and knowledge."

Explaining her father's teachings, Ms. Nguyet said: "During the war, he sent his children to the war zone very early, when their educational level was only 5th or 6th grade. Following his father's teachings, 10 years later, his children all had university degrees, some even had PhDs, working and actively contributing to departments, branches and sectors."
On behalf of her father and family, Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet expressed her emotions when the delegation visited and gave her gifts. She said that her family really appreciates the affection and care of the "Mai Vang Tri An" program. She also believes that the affection of the program will help Major General of Intelligence Sau Tri live a happier and healthier life with his children and grandchildren.
