All 6 submarine cables connecting to the Internet have been operating normally before the April 30th holiday.

Before the 50th anniversary celebration of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification on April 30, the submarine fiber optic cable systems connecting Vietnam's Internet with the world are operating normally.

Asia Pacific Gateway - APG cable and 4 other lines including IA, AAE-1, AAG and SMW-3 are 5 submarine optical cable lines exploited and used by Vietnamese Internet service providers (ISPs) for many years to connect the Internet from Vietnam to the world. All 5 submarine cable lines connect to the East through the East Sea, from 6 landing stations located in Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Quy Nhon and Da Nang .

As a cable line that was officially put into operation nearly 9 years ago, APG encountered its most recent problem in early February 2025 on the two branch cables S9 connecting to Singapore and S1.9 near the Malaysian landing station of the cable line, with 2 errors on branch S1.9 and 1 error on branch S9.

On April 29, 2025, a representative of an ISP in Vietnam said that from around 11:30 p.m. on April 22, the international partner had completed reconfiguring the source, after fixing the errors on the two branches S9 and S1.9 of the APG international submarine cable. Thereby, the international Internet connection capacity on this submarine cable was completely restored.

Thus, before the time when Vietnamese people at home and abroad celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification on April 30, the submarine fiber optic cable systems connecting Vietnam's Internet to the world are operating normally, helping network operators maintain good service quality for users.

Also in April 2025, Asia Direct Cable - ADC, the submarine optical cable with the largest capacity in Vietnam, officially came into operation. ADC is an undersea optical cable system with a length of about 9,800km, connecting 7 countries and territories including Vietnam, China, Hong Kong (China), Thailand, Philippines, Singapore and Japan.

Compared to Vietnam's existing submarine cable lines, ADC has the unique feature of directly connecting to all three Internet centers in Asia: Singapore, Hong Kong (China) and Japan.

In particular, with a maximum capacity of 50 Tbps, the ADC cable capacity is 125% of the total international connection capacity of all 5 active submarine optical cable lines including IA, AAE-1, APG, AAG, SMW-3. In addition, ADC also has a higher speed than previous submarine cable systems.

The total investment capital for the entire ADC line is up to 290 million USD with the cooperation of 9 telecommunications corporations, of which Viettel is the only network operator in Vietnam participating in investing in this submarine cable line. Viettel owns the entire submarine cable branch connecting Vietnam and the landing station in Quy Nhon, along with part of the main international axis./.
