Ca Mau: Meeting to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day

(HTV) - On the morning of April 26, Ca Mau province solemnly held a meeting to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification.

Attending the event were former leaders of the Party and State through the periods, leaders of provinces and cities, representatives of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, and Heroes of the People's Armed Forces.

Reviewing the Great Victory of Spring 1975, Secretary of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Ho Hai emphasized that it was the greatest feat in the heroic history of our nation under the wise and talented leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the great President Ho Chi Minh.

Although it is a remote and difficult land, the Party Committee, army and people of Ca Mau always follow the Party wholeheartedly. The people of Ca Mau have contributed a lot of human and material resources to serve the revolution: more than 17 thousand martyrs have sacrificed; more than 16 thousand wounded soldiers have left part of their blood and bones on the battlefield; more than 2,500 heroic Vietnamese mothers have said goodbye to their loved ones; tens of thousands of families have contributed to the country.

Although it is a remote and difficult land, the Party Committee, army and people of Ca Mau always follow the Party wholeheartedly. The people of Ca Mau have contributed a lot of human and material resources to serve the revolution.

Over the past 50 years, the Party Committee, government and people of Ca Mau province have overcome all difficulties, determined to build their homeland richer and more beautiful. The province's economy has continuously developed, the average income per capita is among the top in the region, the poverty rate is below 1%, the economic and social infrastructure is increasingly modern, airports and seaports are being invested.
