Singer Luong Ngoc Diep passed away at 0:22 on April 18 due to a stroke. The funeral service for the female singer will take place at 14:00 on April 18 in An Duong, Hai Phong . The memorial service and burial will be held on the morning of April 19.
Sharing with Tien Phong , Ms. Tram - Luong Ngoc Diep's sworn sister - said that the female singer was completely normal before she passed away.
“At 10am on April 17, Diep received a call from the hospital informing her that she had leukemia. At noon, she and I still ate lunch together and chatted normally. However, she ate less than usual and seemed tired. At around 1pm, Diep complained of a headache. I immediately took her to the emergency room. After examination, her condition became worse and worse, the doctor gave a poor prognosis and she could not be saved. The family took Diep back to her hometown in Hai Phong and she passed away at 0:22am on April 18,” said Tram.
Colleagues and audiences were shocked to hear the news of singer Luong Ngoc Diep's death.
According to Ms. Tram, when she discovered bruises on Luong Ngoc Diep's legs, she urged her to go get checked.
“I didn’t expect that the day she received her cancer diagnosis would also be the anniversary of her death. Diep lived an optimistic and cheerful life, so she hid her illness. She was also a very resilient person. Before that, she still sang and accepted shows. Everything happened so quickly and suddenly,” Ms. Tram choked up.
According to relatives, singer Luong Ngoc Diep has been a single mother for many years. Her daughter, Bao Tien, is currently in 3rd grade.
For many years, Luong Ngoc Diep has lived with her daughter in Quang Ninh . She is the youngest of three siblings. The singer's father passed away a long time ago and her mother is old and weak.
Luong Ngoc Diep was born in 1987 in Hai Phong. After graduating from high school, she took the entrance exam to the University of Foreign Languages but failed. In 2005, she started working at Quang Hanh Coal Company.
The turning point that helped Luong Ngoc Diep start her singing career was when she participated in the TKV Mass Art Performance in 2006 and won the Gold Medal for solo singing.
Also in that year, Luong Ngoc Diep passed the entrance exam to the University of Mining and Geology, majoring in Business Administration, and then transferred to work as an office worker at the Hon Gai Coal Selection Company.
After graduating from the University of Mining and Geology in 2010, she continued her studies at the English Faculty of Thai Nguyen University and completed her program in 2013. In parallel with her English major, Luong Ngoc Diep applied and passed the Chinese Faculty of Hanoi University of Foreign Languages. Later, Luong Ngoc Diep studied for a master's degree at the Guangxi Academy of Arts, China.
During her artistic career, Luong Ngoc Diep participated in many competitions and won awards such as Second Prize of Quang Ninh Television Singing Contest 2009, First Prize of the Northern Mountainous and Coastal Region at the Vietnam - China Friendship Singing Contest 2010, Outstanding Young Face of Quang Ninh Province in the field of Culture and Arts...
The female singer released the album Ha Long early with 8 songs written about Ha Long including Ha Long early, Quan ho melodies on Ha Long Bay, Ha Long afternoon, Sea memories, On the sea and sky of the Northeast, My Cam Pha, Far away, Don't compare me to the sea.
In 2022, Luong Ngoc Diep released the CD Dream of Love with songs composed and performed by herself.
At that time, Ngoc Diep shared that she was not rich in money, but always had a burning passion for music. "I want to sing, compose, work and I want my works to reach the audience" , Luong Ngoc Diep shared.
