The actor's sister, Jalene Kanani Bell, shared the news on her Facebook account on June 15. The actor's family also confirmed the news to TMZ .

"We have launched a forensic investigation and are scheduling a post-mortem to determine the exact cause of death. No foul play is suspected," a police spokesman added.
"I found out through social media and it was heartbreaking and sad. He was one of the most brilliant talents and the embodiment of a gentle giant," Bell's representative, Lashauna Downie, told People .
"It is with great sadness that I announce that my sweet, generous, talented, funny, smart and handsome brother, David HK Bell, will be with his Heavenly Father today," Jalene said in a statement on June 15.
David Treats the Family When Lilo & Stitch Premieres
Jalene said David celebrated his big moment on the big screen with his family: "David planned ahead and bought the best seats in the theater so we could all come together for the premiere night in Kapolei just two weeks ago."
She recalled seeing fans dressed in Lilo & Stitch gear "energizing" them as they lined up to buy popcorn.

"I said we should go get shaved ice after the movie but then realized the store was closed," Jalene wrote.
Recently, David shared a similar photo on his Facebook account showing him sitting and eating shaved ice.
In addition to acting, Jalene said David also enjoys doing voiceovers. "You can hear his voice over the PA system when you arrive at Kona Airport, where he loves creating a great and safe experience for customers," Jalene wrote, adding that David enjoys social media.
Jalene continued: "The last time we were together after coming home from the movie theater. We sat on the living room couch talking about life, drinking a glass of sparkling water. I will keep our memories forever."
Lilo & Stitch premiered on May 23, currently earning 858 million USD globally, with 32.5 billion VND in Vietnam alone.
