Singer Quoc Thien was sued for singing the song "Nameless Love"

(Dan Tri) - The copyright holder of the song "Nameless Love" said they have sued Quoc Thien because the male singer broke his promise in the agreement to use the song.

Recently, the copyright issue of the song Unnamed Love has attracted attention on social networks. On the afternoon of June 10, musician Le Chi Trung and singer Dinh Nguyen met with the media to clarify the related controversy.

According to musician Le Chi Trung, the song " Nameless Love" was composed by him and he signed an exclusive sales contract with TTV Media Company for a period of 5 years, starting from September 2023.

In mid-September 2023, the song Unnamed Love was released on many platforms through a recording by singer Dinh Nguyen - an artist under TTV Media Company.

In the early stages of promoting Nameless Love , TTV Company and musician Le Chi Trung collaborated with many singers in a way that allowed singers to sing covers and post a single clip on YouTube. This method helped the song to be more widely promoted to a wider audience.

TTV Media Company also confirmed that they have agreed to allow some artists such as Quoc Thien, Trung Quan, Tu Na... to perform the song at shows with commercial elements.

However, according to musician Le Chi Trung, from August 6, 2024, the company notified a number of programs, game shows and singers about stopping granting commercial performance licenses for the song Unnamed Love. The reason is because TTV wants to focus on developing and exploiting this song for singer Dinh Nguyen.

"Many artists who received this information stopped using the song, respecting our unit. As for artist Quoc Thien, the singer agreed to stop using it, but we discovered that he still performed the song on many stages at home and abroad," said TTV.

Musician Le Chi Trung contacted Quoc Thien three times in November 2024, January and March this year, but the situation of Quoc Thien breaking his promise and "freely using" songs still occurred.

According to TTV Media Company, Quoc Thien's continued performance of the song " Nameless Love " is an act that seriously affects TTV, showing disrespect for the value of a work and Intellectual Property Law in Vietnam.

TTV confirmed that they have collected a lot of evidence to take legal action to protect the copyright of the song Unnamed Love , and at the same time sent a lawsuit to the People's Court of Ho Chi Minh City.

Singer Dinh Nguyen added that he and TTV did not want the situation to become tense. The male singer also contacted Quoc Thien with the hope of having a gentle discussion, but Quoc Thien refused to meet. Dinh Nguyen and TTV said that they needed Quoc Thien to stop performing the song " Nameless Love " and apologize publicly to the media.

Dan Tri reporter contacted Quoc Thien's representative to learn more about the incident but has not received a response.

During a music night in May, when interacting with the audience, Quoc Thien once shared about the copyright issue of using the song " Nameless Love" . He said that at first, musician Le Chi Trung asked him to sing this song to promote it to the audience, but after a while, he "hit the copyright stick".

The singer said: "If a good song is kept secret and not let others sing it, it will die."

The song Unnamed Love was released in September 2023 and performed by singer Dinh Nguyen. However, since 2024, this song has become a hit associated with the name Quoc Thien after videos of the male singer covering and performing at large and small shows.
