Singer Thai Thanh: "My strength is adaptability"

(Dan Tri) - After winning the runner-up position of "Vietnam Music Talent 2023", Thai Thanh entered a new phase with many opportunities, as well as many challenges.

Thai Thanh was born and raised in Quang Tri, currently working in Da Nang . She became known to the public after winning the runner-up position in the Vietnam Music Talent 2023 contest. Not only recognized for her powerful, emotional voice, Thai Thanh also attracts attention for her beautiful appearance.

She said this title has opened the door for her to get closer to audiences and large and small stages across the country.

“I received trust from many show producers, businesses and state agencies. That honor comes with pressure, making me always remind myself to sing better than the audience's expectations,” the singer shared with Dan Tri reporter.

Before pursuing a professional artistic career, Thai Thanh was an office worker. Switching to a full-time singing career significantly changed her lifestyle.

From working late into the night, she entered a more flexible environment, had time to take care of herself, practice her voice and maintain her health. Music also took her to many places, opening up experiences she had never had before. “I met many people, loved the scenery and traditional dishes of each region. Life became more colorful thanks to that,” she added.

Considered a multi-style singer, Thai Thanh is confident that flexibility is her outstanding strength. She pursues light music with delicate and luxurious colors, close to Van Mai Huong or Uyen Linh. However, the female singer also often tries her hand at foreign music by Lady Gaga and Adele to exploit her inner strength and emotions.

On the event stage, she transformed into another version: Strong, youthful with vibrant remix and EDM performances. Recently, she received many compliments from the Northern audience when performing songs by musicians Phu Quang, Trinh Cong Son, Ngo Thuy Mien or Vu Thanh An - works that require emotional maturity.

Thai Thanh believes that the Vietnamese music market is currently very vibrant and diverse. The female singer commented: “Audiences are increasingly more open-minded, they may like a young singer in a tea room, but still cherish the beauty of immortal songs.

That creates opportunities for artists like me - those who pursue the sophistication of light music but still want to keep up with new trends.

I believe that the essence of music is always “true emotion”. Technique, form or trend are just materials. What keeps the audience engaged the longest is the sincerity that you put into each song. That helps me pursue my passion and the motivation takes me to faraway places to perform for my audience.”

During her performance, Thai Thanh kept many beautiful memories, including an outdoor performance in the sudden rain.

“My crew and I thought the show would be interrupted, but the audience stayed, standing in the rain and singing along with me until the end of the performance. That moment almost brought me to tears. Music truly connects strangers with very sincere emotions,” the runner-up of Vietnam Music Talent 2023 confided.

Looking to the future, Thai Thanh said her goal for the next 5 years is to develop her career in a sustainable and in-depth direction. She plans to carry out more sophisticated music projects, from EPs to live sessions with her own mark.

Besides, Thai Thanh wants to improve her performance skills and learn more choreography so that each appearance will bring new experiences. Participating in national and international music competitions is also in her plan: "I see it as an environment to practice my skills and broaden my thinking, not a place to measure my reputation."
