The Japan Music Awards (MAJ) was established last year, organized by the Cultural and Entertainment Industry Promotion Association of Japan (CEIPA) in collaboration with the Ministry of Economy , Trade and Industry of Japan (METI). The event aims to strengthen the position and expand the country's music market, targeting a global audience.

The MAJ 2025 award criteria are based on objective data from major charts such as Oricon, Billboard Japan, GfK/NIQ Japan, Luminate, USEN, JASRAC, etc. Works/artists must release products between January 29, 2024 and January 26, 2025 to be eligible for the award. At the same time, the voting process consists of 3 stages: Stage 1 - The system automatically synthesizes the nomination list based on objective data; Stage 2 - The industry expert panel selects up to 5 nominees for each category; Stage 3 - The international panel and voting members will select the final winner. For the categories voted by the public, the results are entirely based on the audience's votes.

The awards ceremony will be broadcast live on NHK, the national broadcaster, and YouTube. The jury consists of more than 5,000 experts, including singers, producers, record label employees, critics, journalists, publishers, and international judges.

The Organizing Committee will award a total of 60 awards voted by the art council and the audience. To attend the Awards Ceremony, singer Tung Duong will travel to Japan and be present at the Rohm Theater, Kyoto (where the awards ceremony will be held) on May 21 and 22.

On the Organizing Committee's website, the International Special Awards category selects influential artists from six countries including China, Korea, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines and Vietnam. The activity aims to promote musical connections between Japan and some Asian countries. The jury assessed Tung Duong's music as contemporary and suitable for the criteria.

With more than two decades of artistic activities, Tung Duong has proven himself not only as an excellent singer but also as a symbol of creativity, innovation and profound influence in the musical life of Vietnam.

Singer Tung Duong, 42 years old, is one of the singers who matured since Sao Mai Diem Hen 2004. The singer is evaluated by experts as having a powerful voice and unique musical style. After the competition, he has been persistently active in the arts, releasing six studio albums, organizing 11 live shows, and winning many prestigious awards.
