However, after being treated here for 5 days, I feel very satisfied with the cooling fan system, air conditioning system, and drinking water system that the hospital has equipped.
On average, the Rehabilitation Hospital receives about 50 - 60 patients per day for examination and inpatient treatment for about 290 patients. To ensure safety and improve patient satisfaction, the hospital has proactively implemented many solutions to prevent heat and sun. Mr. Tran Van Khuong, Director of the Rehabilitation Hospital, said: Since the beginning of April 2025, the hospital has developed a plan to prevent heat and sun for patients and medical staff; reviewed the air conditioning and fan systems in departments, rooms, and patient rooms; prepared medicine and emergency equipment at the hospital for cases of heatstroke and sunstroke; retrained in first aid skills for heatstroke and heat shock for patients, especially stroke patients; ensured adequate provision of free drinking water and fans for patients and their families; propaganda about the harmful effects caused by heat and preventive measures... Compared to previous years, this year the hospital has added nearly 20 air conditioners to departments, rooms, and patient rooms. Along with the curtain system and heat-resistant glass, the hospital has installed additional curtain systems in the outside corridors. Drinking water is installed on all floors, and the examination and medication areas for outpatients have additional hot and cold water dispensers. The hospital cafeteria has also been renovated, expanded, and equipped with fans and air conditioners to best serve patients during the examination and treatment process. The hospital has also implemented early medical examinations according to summer hours from 6:30 am, and arranged additional examination tables so that people do not have to wait long.

At Pho Noi General Hospital, according to statistics, on average, each day, the hospital receives 450 - 600 visits for examination and emergency care and 450 - 500 inpatients, of which the emergency area alone has 80 - 100 patients. In the face of hot weather, along with preparing medicine, medical equipment and supplies, ensuring effective implementation of medical examination and treatment, the hospital has also proactively implemented solutions to prevent sun and heat early. From the beginning of the year, the hospital has arranged to plant more trees, creating a green, clean and beautiful campus; repairing and installing air conditioners... Most departments and rooms have air conditioners. In some areas with large spaces, the hospital has arranged additional cooling fans and drinking water systems for patients and their relatives. Doctor Nguyen Quoc Sau, Deputy Director of Pho Noi General Hospital said: In the hot summer weather, along with maintaining fans and cooling systems, the hospital regularly checks water sources, water supply systems, and water storage systems, promptly repairs and supplements them to avoid damage and blockages that affect the daily needs of patients. In addition to self-financing, the hospital has also socialized and called on a number of banks and businesses to sponsor air conditioners with different capacities suitable for each room to ensure cooling and save electricity to best serve patients during examination and treatment.
This summer, it is forecasted that there will be many more heat waves. Therefore, proactively protecting patients from the sun and heat and handling emergency cases when the weather is unusually hot are very important. In addition to sun and heat protection, hospitals need to arrange examination, isolation and triage areas to prevent the spread of some infectious diseases in the summer.
