City leaders offer incense to commemorate the 1983rd anniversary of General Le Chan's victory (August 15 - Lunar calendar)
(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the morning of September 17, Le Chan district held an incense offering ceremony to commemorate the 1983rd anniversary of the victory of General Le Chan (August 15 - Lunar calendar) to promote the cultural beauty and tradition of "When drinking water, remember its source"; to express gratitude for the great merit of General Le Chan - who reclaimed land, established hamlets to build An Bien village - today's Hai Phong city and her great contribution to the Hai Ba Trung uprising.
Attending the incense offering ceremony were comrades: Le Tien Chau , member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the Hai Phong National Assembly Delegation; Nguyen Van Tung , Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee; Do Manh Hien , Permanent Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee; comrades of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee; leaders of the City People's Council, City People's Committee and a number of Departments, branches of the city and Le Chan district.
Delegations from the city and district came to offer incense at the Nghe Temple Relic - a historical relic ranked at the national level by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism since 1975, which is the place to worship Female General Le Chan, a talented female general who achieved many resounding victories in the Hai Ba Trung uprising, and was appointed by Trung Vuong as "Commander of the internal military power", and given the important responsibility of guarding the Hai Tan region.
The delegation offered incense at An Bien Communal House - a place to worship Female General Le Chan. In 2009, An Bien Communal House was honored to be recognized by the state as a National Architectural and Artistic Relic, a place that converges and reflects the life, emotions and cultural characteristics of the people of Hai Phong.
The delegation also offered incense at the Statue of General Le Chan, in the central area of the city. The members of the delegation respectfully paid tribute to the great contributions of General Le Chan - the founder of the ancient An Bien village and laid the foundation for today's Hai Phong city. Proud of the tradition of steadfast and indomitable struggle of the heroic estuary, in recent years, the Party Committee, government, army and people of the city in general, and Le Chan district in particular, have achieved many proud achievements with outstanding results in the fields of economy - society, national defense - security.
