Medical and Pharmaceutical schools simultaneously increase tuition fees, the highest is nearly 130 million VND/year

Many universities training in the field of Medicine and Pharmacy announced enrollment targets and expected tuition fees for the 2025-2026 school year.

Recently, Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy announced that the highest tuition fee for the 2025 enrollment period is over 63 million VND/year. The majors include: Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy. The remaining majors have tuition fees from 44 to nearly 60 million VND/year.

Compared to 2024, tuition fees for most majors will increase by 10 - 12 million VND/school year. In particular, the tuition fees for Medicine will increase by nearly 14 million VND compared to the 2024 enrollment period.

Danang University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy also announced the expected tuition fees for 2025. Of which, the tuition fee for Medicine and Pharmacy is 40 million VND/year, with the Medicine major alone increasing by 8.9 million VND compared to the previous year. The tuition fee for the remaining majors in 2025 is expected to be 30 million VND/year (an increase of 6.4 million VND compared to 2024).

Buon Ma Thuot University of Medicine and Pharmacy plans to increase tuition from 60 million VND/year to 65 million VND/year for the Vietnamese language training program for the Medical major. Notably, for the English language training program for the Medical major, the school plans to apply a tuition fee of 5,000 USD/year (about more than 129 million VND).

Tuition for Traditional Medicine is 50 million VND/year, Preventive Medicine is 40 million VND/year. The lowest is Public Health, expected to collect 20 million VND/year.

Hong Bang International University announced the provisional tuition fee for the first semester of the 2025-2026 school year at 72 million VND for the Dentistry and Medicine majors. With 15 semesters, the total tuition fee for these two majors is over 1 billion VND (excluding physical education and national defense and security education tuition fees).

Traditional Medicine temporarily collects 32 million VND/semester, Pharmacy 23 million VND/semester, other health bachelor majors 22 million VND/semester (10 semesters/course).

In the 2024-2025 school year, this school announced tuition fees in the enrollment plan for Medicine and Dentistry in the English program at 210 million VND/year; other majors in the Vietnamese program are about 55 - 90 million VND/year.

Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine announced the expected tuition fees for the 2025 - 2026 school year, with two main frames of 41.8 million VND/year for the majors of Nursing, Midwifery, Medical Laboratory Technology, Medical Imaging Technology, Rehabilitation Technology, Ophthalmology Refractive Surgery, Public Health, Nutrition and 55.2 million VND/year for the majors of Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry and Traditional Medicine.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy plans to keep tuition fees stable compared to 2024. Candidates admitted in 2025 will pay tuition fees of VND30 - 84.7 million/year depending on the major. The highest tuition fee is VND84.7 million for Dentistry. Next is Medicine, which costs VND82.2 million/year.

The Pharmacy industry is expected to earn 60.5 million VND/year. The Traditional Medicine, Preventive Medicine, and Pharmaceutical Chemistry industries have the same expected tuition of 50 million VND/year.

Industries with the same income of 46 million VND/year include: Nursing, Nursing specializing in anesthesia and resuscitation, Midwifery, Nutrition, Dental prosthetics, Medical testing techniques, Medical imaging techniques, Rehabilitation techniques, Public health.

For the first time, the social work major has the lowest tuition fee at 30 million VND/year. Although it has not increased, the tuition fee for medical training at the school is still among the highest in the public school sector.

What is the basis for tuition fees?

University tuition fees are currently applied according to Decree 97/2023 of the Government. According to regulations, in the 2025-2026 school year, non-autonomous public universities are allowed to collect tuition fees of up to 15.2 - 31.1 million VND/10-month school year. This fee increases by 1.7 - 3.5 million VND compared to the 2024-2025 school year, depending on the major.

Public universities are self-sufficient in regular expenses, with tuition fees for the next academic year ranging from 30.4 to 62.2 million VND/year (an increase of 3.4 to 7 million VND compared to before). Public universities are self-sufficient in regular expenses and investment expenses, with tuition fees ranging from 38 to 77.75 million VND/year depending on the major (an increase of 4.25 to 8.75 million VND).

Excluding programs that have achieved quality accreditation and are allowed to determine their own tuition fees based on economic and technical standards issued by the school, the lowest undergraduate tuition fee for the coming school year will be 15.2 million VND and the highest will be 77.75 million VND, depending on the type of school and training sector.
