This year, Ms. Tram's family in Ky Van commune celebrated the traditional New Year in a new, spacious house worth billions. This is something her family could not have dreamed of before.

According to Giao Thong Newspaper's reporter, on the 3rd day of Tet at the resettlement area of Hoa Hop village, Ky Van commune, Ky Anh district, dozens of households have completed construction, in time to celebrate Tet in their new houses.

On the straight, shiny asphalt roads, the faces of the households welcoming the first Tet in their new homes were radiant with excitement. The roads were decorated with flags and fans; flashing lights were decorated in front of each house gate, making the resettlement area look like an urban area in the city.

The roads in the resettlement area are clean and beautiful. In front of each house, there are flashing lights and national flags.

In every house that the reporter visited, everyone here bought kumquat and apricot trees for their family to celebrate Tet. According to them, this is the first Tet in a new place so they have to buy enough and abundant things.

Talking to reporters in their spacious house worth more than 1.2 billion VND, Nguyen Thi Tram and Nguyen Van Thu excitedly said that their old residence had an area of about 2,000 square meters. Because it was located close to the mountain, the land was barren and rocky, and travel and water conditions were extremely inconvenient.

Previously, Ms. Tram's family lived near the mountains, making it very inconvenient for traveling and living. Now that they have moved to a new house that is spacious, beautiful, and close to the national highway, the family is very excited.

"After receiving compensation of 3.3 billion VND, the family bought a plot of land in the new resettlement area for 477 million VND with a spacious traffic infrastructure system, clean and beautiful asphalt roads... the family is very satisfied," Ms. Tram happily said.

Mr. Thu, Ms. Tram's husband, added that with the compensation money, the family bought another 300m2 plot next door for their son. The conditions here are comfortable, raising livestock and growing crops are both favorable. We are extremely grateful to the local government for creating favorable conditions for the family to move to a new place that is better than the old place.

Mr. Truong Van Tam, Hoa Hop village confided: "Previously, my family lived with my parents in an old house of about 110 square meters. After giving up the house and land to build the North-South expressway project, my family was compensated and supported to buy 2 plots of land in the resettlement area.

After a few months of construction, my family and my parents moved into the new house. Before, I never dreamed that my family would have a place to live like this."

"I spent 1.3 billion VND to build a house. Compared to my old place which was mainly mountainous, my new place is much more modern and bustling. Living here, I also opened a breakfast shop so I have more income. In general, life is much better than my old place," Ms. Huong shared.

According to the leader of the People's Committee of Ky Van commune, Ky Anh district, the resettlement area for households affected by the expressway project has an area of 0.9 hectares and is built near National Highway 1B, with a lighting system, spacious and clean roads.

"Thanks to building the house early, my family now has a new house to live in, in time for Tet, so we are very happy," Ms. Phuong shared.

Near Ms. Phuong's house, the family of Ms. Bui Thi Hien (65 years old) has also completed a new level 4 house worth more than 1 billion VND, including full furniture and a solemn ancestral altar.

“I really like the high, airy resettlement area with electricity, roads, and a full drainage system. I am very happy and excited to celebrate Tet in my new house,” Ms. Hien shared.

Mr. Dang Van Thanh - Vice Chairman of Cam Due Commune People's Committee said that due to the impact of the North-South Expressway, Cam Due Commune has built a resettlement area in Thong Nhat village for 12 households to relocate to live.
