Detective Conan: Afterimage, directed by Katsuya Shigehara, attracts more viewers in Vietnam than Hollywood blockbusters Mission: Impossible 8 and Superman and will surpass How to Train Your Dragon in the 2025 summer movie season.

The series about the boy detective, which originated from the famous manga series by artist Aoyama Gosho, has been around for nearly three decades but is still growing in popularity. Afterimage of the One-Eyed Man is probably the most successful film in the series, targeting families and children, and has now grossed over $135 million worldwide.

The film marks the return of the one-eyed police officer Yamato Kansuke in the trio of Nagano police officers. The group of bearded detective Mori Kogoro, smart kid Conan and police officer Kansuke investigate an avalanche accident and a mysterious assassination. Clues from the two cases gradually reveal secrets that the audience can gradually guess the culprit while following and "solving the case" with the detectives.

This is a movie that favors the character of the "sleeping detective" Mori Kogoro and leaves a message that "the needle in the bag will eventually come out". How will people face the pain and mistakes of the past in the most satisfactory way?
