On the day of the parade, it is impossible to access the central area around Ba Dinh Square by personal vehicle.

Therefore, using public transport, booking technology cars and walking are the most reasonable methods of transportation.

Public Transport Guide - Free Bus Routes and How to Find Them

More than 35 bus routes in Hanoi will change their routes on September 2. People will be exempted from paying for tickets and need to know the temporary stops to travel conveniently and join in the festive atmosphere.

Ahead of the large-scale road closure plan, the Hanoi Public Transport Management Center (HTPC) has announced plans to adjust the routes of more than 35 bus routes.

In particular, during peak days (from August 30 to September 2), Hanoi Transport Corporation has prepared human resources and vehicles to promptly increase and relieve passengers at bus stations and transfer stations when needed and requested by state management agencies.

The number of reserve vehicles is expected to increase by 34 vehicles, the number of additional vehicles is expected to increase by 80.

In addition, this unit also requires the affiliated bus operating units to strengthen maintenance and repair work, organize general inspections, refurbishment, and cleaning of vehicles to ensure quality, technique, aesthetics, fire and explosion prevention, and ensure the best vehicles when operating on routes.

This is a key solution to ensure traffic connectivity, serve travel needs and encourage people to use public transport to attend events.

In particular, the city applies a policy of free bus and train tickets for Cat Linh-Ha Dong from August 30 to September 2, creating maximum convenience for people.

Bus routes passing through the central area of Ba Dinh and prohibited routes will be adjusted to follow the belt roads.

The stops and parking spots closest to the restricted area will be temporarily arranged on streets such as Kim Ma (outer section), Nguyen Chi Thanh, La Thanh, Xa Dan, Dai Co Viet, and Tran Nhat Duat.

For example, routes that normally pass through Nguyen Thai Hoc will be adjusted to run on the parallel axis of Cat Linh or Giang Vo. Routes that pass through Le Duan will be redirected to Giai Phong.

To avoid confusion, HTPC recommends using digital tools for searching. The “Find Bus” application on smartphones is the most effective tool, providing information on changing routes, real-time bus locations and nearest stops.

In addition, detailed information is also continuously updated on Transerco's official website and at bus stops.

Traffic inspectors and support staff at major transit points such as Cau Giay and Long Bien will be on duty to answer and guide people.

The safest and most convenient walking routes

To ensure safety and help people avoid getting disoriented, the Organizing Committee has set up safe "walking corridors" controlled by authorities.

Choosing where to start your walk depends on where you park your car or where you get off the bus. From the main directions, people can refer to the following routes:

West (from Cau Giay, My Dinh) : After parking at Quan Ngua Sports Palace or along Van Cao Street, the most reasonable walking route is through Giang Van Minh Street, then turn into small streets such as Tran Huy Lieu, Nui Truc to access the part of Kim Ma Street that is not prohibited and enter Nguyen Thai Hoc.

South direction (from Dong Da, Thanh Xuan) : Parking spots on Hoang Cau and Huynh Thuc Khang streets will connect with the walking route along La Thanh and O Cho Dua streets, then enter Cat Linh street. This is one of the main walking routes to enter the parade viewing area.

East direction (from Hoan Kiem, Hai Ba Trung) : People can walk from Hanoi station (Le Duan street), through Kham Thien street to Cat Linh, or from Hang Bong, Cua Nam to access Nguyen Thai Hoc street.

Security forces, riot police and volunteers will be deployed on these routes. They will be tasked with guiding, maintaining order and being ready to assist people. Soft barriers will be erected to separate pedestrian lanes, avoiding conflicts and jostling.

Carpooling to reduce congestion and save money

Faced with traffic challenges, the awareness of each citizen plays an extremely important role. Instead of each person using a personal vehicle, the application of the carpooling model is especially encouraged.

Families in the same neighborhood, groups of friends, and colleagues can proactively arrange to share a car. This not only helps reduce the number of vehicles on the road but also saves on fuel and parking costs.

In addition to self-organization, people can take advantage of ride-hailing apps. Imagine if 3-4 people instead of riding 3-4 motorbikes, they share a ride-hailing car, the pressure on the traffic infrastructure will be significantly reduced. This is a small action but brings great benefits, directly contributing to the overall success of the Parade and the image of a civilized Capital.
