Be creative and listen to young people
Born in 1996, Huy was admitted to the Youth Union in Ward 3, District 8, District 10 (HCMC) when he was in 10th grade. He then became the secretary of the Youth Union of the neighborhood. Currently the secretary of the Youth Union of Ward 8, Huy has been a Youth Union officer for nine years. Huy said that if the Youth Union's activities are not creative, do not understand and follow the trends of young people, it will be very difficult to attract them.
Huy's lesson is to always listen and learn from other units to design models and activities that are close to the reality that young people need and love.
To help you develop your strengths, Huy established many clubs, teams, and groups based on your interests and let you mobilize people to participate. Thanks to that, every activity is exciting and attracts many people to join.
With the theme "Year of Youth Volunteers" deployed in 2024, Huy and the Ward Youth Union deployed the model "Green Movement for a Green Ward 8" and digitized volunteer activities in the ward.
The program invites young people to plant trees and protect the green, clean and beautiful environment. You will be the ones to spread the message to your relatives and friends to become a movement that the community joins hands to carry out.
In addition to activities accompanying young people in establishing their careers, Huy focuses on content to arouse the desire to contribute and train young people.
In addition, Huy proposed activities to take care of children and youth in the ward. Organizing activities to improve digital capacity for the Youth Union staff, members, and children in the locality was also implemented by the leaders and the ward Youth Union.
During this Youth Month, Huy and his friends have designed many volunteer activities to inspire youth for the community. They have carried out the "Sunflower" journey to reach disabled people, sharing and recording stories about Uncle Ho, stories of beautiful lives to create a series of audiobooks for the visually impaired...

Promoting activities in cyberspace
"Good and meaningful activities will naturally attract people. The residential area must be voluntary, it is difficult to force people to participate. We use social networks to spread the word and invite people to join the Union," Huy said.
Huy humorously said: "The Youth Union staff work day and night, and even work on Sundays, but still have work to do." Because every time we organize an activity, we have to design it to fit the schedule of the young people participating.
The Youth Union of Ward 8 is considered a unit that has excellently completed its tasks, leading in the emulation cluster of residential areas in District 10.
Ward 8 Youth Union applied technology into its activities. Huy himself proposed the implementation of the Ward 8 Digital Technology Museum model. Children and teenagers only need to scan the QR code to visit easily. This application was also implemented by the Youth Union members together.
Huy said: "Instead of having to find documents by going to museums, reading books..., when entering the Digital Technology Museum, you will be provided with information about the history of the Ward Party Committee along with the historical flow of the district, city and country.
Recording each chapter, each section, and even the exchanges and sharing of historical witnesses also helps you proactively know and understand local history.
Spreading beautiful images and positive lifestyles on social networks is also a way that Huy does not only in his own way. This leader also promotes typical examples in various fields to spread and attract many young people to participate.
Through this method, Huy also discovered factors to train the next generation of Youth Union cadres.

2023, for me, is a brilliant year for myself. In less than two months, I was honored to receive the laurel wreath twice in the first competition for Excellent Youth Union Secretary in Ho Chi Minh City and Excellent Youth Union Secretary nationwide.
Through the contest, I learned a lot from the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union in particular and the whole country in general. I was able to exchange and share my own experiences to inspire the Youth Union officers at the sister units.
Through that, I also get to listen, learn and improve my knowledge and social practice skills to train and develop myself.
In 2024, I also set goals at work to strive to achieve. In particular, successfully organizing the Congress of the Vietnam Youth Union in the ward, towards the Congress of the Vietnam Youth Union at all levels. Creating action movements and programs to accompany union members and young people in the ward. Organizing activities to improve digital capacity for union officials, union members, and young people in the locality...
